I don't think RC has any ascendancy over other ESF schools honestly.

Major difference is --it is a through-train and BIG school.  The kid stays there for 13 years! As a RC parent, I'm happy with this school and I also respect the others.

More selective means RC interviews 600 kids and select 162, whereas ESF only interviews the number of the kids that they can offer a place.

唔算，我同你一樣，應該係pass咗assessment就直接俾錢留位。reserve list 嘅學生係唔會收deposit.

Hi Radiomama, may I know apart from the school fees, is RC got other activities / meal fees ? How much are they ?  thanks your sharing.

For junior primary, not much...only small amount of stationary fee, fee for field trips/concerts/theatre and etc.  Students could opt for school lunch or home lunch and school bus.

Students could join after school activities when they are in senior years.  Some are free, eg. maths club, concert band, debate team...The annual fee for scouting is $750 only.

hi , thank you so much for answering. As there is some adjustment on the school fees this year so we need to consider for all expenses may occurred.

Put it this way, it is easier to get an interview from RC but harder to get an offer after the interview.
For other ESF schools, it is harder to get an interview but easier to get an offer afterwards.

I wouldn't say one is much harder than the other.

I called central admission office. I was told guarantee/reserve list interview was randomly selected. Some students from esf kinders might not be able to offer an interview. It's very lucky to even get one.

As both RC and other esf primary are big classes with 30 students, can 1  ...

For RC, there are 27-28 students per class and the support from class teacher and EA is good enough generally.  There is SEN support and parent helper is also welcomed in junior primary.  ( I was parent helper in Year One to Three)

Does anyone know whether the chance is slim for a reserved listed interviewee to get a place at KJS, considering KJS is many people's first choice.

Basically,  central application students distributed by living address to different schools zone.
parents can't choose school which they like. don't worry.
