我仔剛升中。學校開設法文課程。聽聞DSE可以選考法文，而不考中文，我仔說他想這樣選擇。我仔雖然華裔，小學一直學習中文，但是中文成績一般。我查資料，似乎每年頂多200人選考法文。
請問，這種選擇可行嗎？

華語學生是可以考法文作選修科，但仍要考中文作必修科，但不可以代替！

想問下DSE如考法文要係邊度讀？係法協讀了8年，咁怎樣知道佢是否夠能力考DSE的法文？另外要經自己中學報考？thx

報考DSE，只可以經中學報或自修生，在同一年只可選其中一種身份報考，所以經學校報時，問問學校可否額外代報多一科，有些學校是可以的。

Why do you want to take DSE French? Just take the french exam at AF. Much better worldwide recognition.

You meant IS primary, then local secondary (+ DSE)?
I think you really need to double check with 2 organisations.
Check first whether HKEAA allow ethnic Chinese students not taking DSE Chinese.
You also need to check whether JUPAS allow ethnic chinese students not taking DSE Chinese. My limited knowledge of JUPAS procedures is that all students have to take all four core subjects (including chinese).

On the other hand, if you are with IS secondary, you are applying with non-jupas and you do not need to take chinese language even if you are ethnic chinese.

Yes. Sound fine to me.
To make things simple, anything other than DSE is non-jupas.
If you want to know more, go to the website of say HKU and CUHK and check the admission requirements of non-jupas students.
If your child is already in an international, ask the teachers. They will be able to tell you what your child need to do to apply to local universities.

我之前唔清楚，因見有人講DSE考法文便問問，但之後我問咗法協，職員已解答我，謝謝！
