Yeah, that's probably a rational hypothesis . However achieving first rank in P3 is not promising enough to ensure same ranking is likely to be achieved in P5/6, you know academic wise P5/6 is very different from lower primary. More, in a 直屬 primary, students and their parents face much less pressure, which may be good for students to grow as a whole person, without being overly pushed.
On the other hand, switching to a Primary School with 直屬 secondary will surely guarantee her a place in a band 1 secondary school. 進可攻, 退可守. Not every family is in preference of DSS 神校. That brilliant girl only applies for another gov't girls' school, as far as I know.
