I think she will be very happy thereafter! Many kids from local to international really can't believe there is "real happy school" in this world! No need to worry too much! My nephew is the same case too, he changed from local to IS, he likes IS so so much and he asked his parents why so late to put him there! He is Year 8 too!

After 6 years in local school, both my daughter and me been put so much effort and pressure on studying, even she's band 1A in local system, i found she lost initiative and curious to explore new things, and I believe youngster life should hv more free and fun time , instead of studying and studying ! I did a bit research on DSE syllabus , honest, can't agree that's the way to develop an all round person to deal with future challenges. So we decided to hv a change now.

BTW,  this is only my personal opinion, others may not agree

"The English is good enough to get in but not good enough for hanging out" , yes that's true, and applied to most of us being brought up in local schools too.

Thanks activehealth

I'm quite confident to her English, she was interviewed by vice principal and he asked if she'd been brought up overseas as her english is quite native. On the other hand , her Chinese is not as fluent as English

She studied Japanese in primary school but she decided to take French now, do you know how advance for year 8 French ?

Dunno why my reply didn't show as well

Seems like they have learned quite a bit on the 3rd language, do you think we could ask school for the material and try to catch up in summer holiday?

Agreed with you 88 so much!
My daughter got a chance to do assessment for admission to Island School very soon.  May I know what kind of assessment will be? Is the chance to get acceptance is high?

Is your daughter happy with the new school life? Difficult to adapt?

Million thanks!

She is looking forward to it and was so excited when the v principal showed her around the school. Looking forward to hearing your good news
