可能我說話直接，但實在沒有心去扁低那一間或去抬舉那一間，也沒想到會有一些這樣激進的家長，而不是平心討 ...

樓主好像從來未有道歉過，説什麼只是她説話太直接，還串ESF大部分家長不接受負評（她那些「聽說」而沒任何根據的評論）！

建議樓主可以客觀分析公開考試數據。以英基有接近1000人考2015 IB Diploma，可以做到每四個人有一個考到40分或以上，以一間non-selective school來說，我覺得成績係相當好。以英基的小學為例，一班30人有一個老師加一位助教，如果有特殊學習需要的學生更有額外老師/助教照顧。至於英基學生有沒有其他國際學校的學生咁乖和勤力，相信冇人可以給你客觀數據去分析。我作為用家家長，我暫時都好滿意英基的敎學及處理學生心理生理需要。我有好多親友都渴望子女可以考入英基卻未能如願（甚至有人肯俾$40萬都冇位），如你小朋友被抽中是十分幸運的了。

另外，看到rakui說ESF會照顧到學生生理及心理狀況，是怎樣處理呢？可否多說明一些呢？謝謝🙏🙏

其實有冇人知ESF狀元們都是幾大的時候進入英基？純屬好奇，冇其他意思。間間學校都是有優點有不足，孩子接受學得開心就好

我小朋友今年喺ESF讀緊year 1，開學不久就每天派不同故事書給小朋友回家閱讀，因應小朋友閱讀程度選擇書本。每星期一次去學校圖書館借書。學校超級鼓勵閱讀，不只reading，學校強調understanding, comprehension, 希望小朋友可以表達對故事的感受。我小朋友有時有點情緒，老師都會照顧佢感受。有同學跟其他小朋友相處出現問題時，老師又會個別處理。我小朋友有食物敏感，老師都記得，避免給予敏感食物。我和同班某d家長都好滿意學校老師們。

Trouble is, one regard as negative things, others may be completely ok with it.

I spoke to an ex ESF parent who move his kid out of ESF. I asked why. He said everything were very good except they do not allow Kids to freely choose their IGCSE subjects. There are packages only.

For her daughter, the lack of flexibility is negative. But for many others having "Set Dinner meals" are perfectly fine.

We should understand vaguely where the school fits in the spectrum, understand teaching philosophy, understand the outcome (university placements), location etc as they are important. But precisely the ranking, all the good and bads from everyone?  Average IB result 0.7 higher?  Come on, that is over-analyzing to me, which local parents tend to do.

Yes, for sure.

Some teachers tend to be a bit slack in marking the homework, with not many corrections/comments. Some parents criticise that the homework is sometimes peer marked instead of teacher marked. The teachers insist that the students can learn from each other in that way.

ESF schools often ask parents to go to schools to discuss the progress of the students in student/ teacher conferences, attend the talks about the school camps, curriculum developments, career planning, Divali night, sports day, swimming gala, mid Autumn Festival/CNY celebrations, volunteer in school field trips and at schools in PTA shops, as class assistants, as library assistants, school fairs, give donations, PTA meetings,etc..
Many of them are during office hours.

As a working mum with busy work schedule, I feel obliged to go (they take attendances of parents) but find it overwhelming as often have to go 3 to 4 times per month just for all the information nights, academic consultations within my normal working hours, not including the volunteer work they would like you to participate in.

If you can't afford the time or definitely would not like to participate and socialise with the teaching staffs and other parents. Or if you are too shy to speak English, the ESF schools may not be suitable for your family.

The other day, I bumped into my boy's Year 1 class teacher on the street. After 7 years, she can still recall my name and asked my boy by his name, how he is doing in Year 7 in the secondary school. It is just unbelievable!

l am always amazed how warm they treat you in ESF. The class teachers know you and your kid by heart. So do the vice principals and principals, who often stand outside the schools to greet the kids in the morning, interact with the kids in the playground during their breaks and say goodbye to them before they get on the school buses to get home.

It's real education to me, teachers are embracing and responsible, they really teach and help them. Of course every school has good and bad teachers, but for me, I'm very happy about the overall education quality so far.

Yes I heard many parents complain that they don't know what their kids are learning in IS. Like I am in a IS nursery, without textbooks/ home works/ flash cards or exams. My friend from local kinder was astonished to know that and asked me," then what is she learning from school?"

I agree with u. I feel that a few of the ESF parents are over reacted in this matter.

講真香港仲係言論自由的地方，係討論區發問而引起爭議不是問題，但為什麼要人家道歉呢？
