小兒子即將入讀小一，一間傳統名校和一間很好的國際學校兩個offer，兩件學校都是一條龍到中學。很難抉擇,想聽聽大家的意見。

Are you from ICS kindergarten? It's very difficult to get in ICS if you are an outsider ?

Very hard and yet easy choice.  Both are very different types of school in many aspects.  Here are somethings that you may want to consider:

1) Does he like to study and do homework?
2) What is your expectation of his Chinese/English level?
3) Which school does he like more?
4) Will you send him to study aboard after primary / secondary school?
5) What is your expectation of the school.

其實真係好難取捨。我比我朋友個case 你參考下：
佢得一個仔，全家冇外國護照，小朋友幼稚園讀st catherine . 個仔當年男拔（爸爸唔係畢業生），加拿大國際學校都收咗，佢兩公婆周圍問意見，最終簡咗讀男拔，而家已經中學生，舊年已經讀完第十班嘅預備班，今年讀緊IB.
我朋友點解㨂男拔，首先四大長老都鐘意，不停叫比個仔讀，佢兩公婆諗如果讀完小學之後轉IS，應該比由IS轉local 容易，個仔性格比較文靜，佢老公想個仔學多啲中文先。點知個仔又適應到，成績又好好，當然有補習，個仔唔想轉IS讀中學，所以繼續讀

Thanks for the info. I heard it's almost impossible for non christian to get a spot at ICS.

如果準備好未來十幾年在一個競爭性非常高嘅生態生存，唔介意每天跟身邊同學競技比試的話，亦預備好接受9x%身邊嘅親戚朋友同事歌頌讚美的優越感，一定要去喇沙！
(我見過有家長同個仔星期日中午出街食晏都要著住喇沙jacket,就知件衫幾值$！)

心魔是最難克服 - 咁幸運俾您抽中La salle 唔讀? 第日d幸運就會唔黎。而且LS唔洗交學費，慳番的錢，去好多轉遊學都得。
今日憑實力考到ICS，第日要是不適合LS，也可再考其他國際學校。
所以GO GO GO!

Noted you have posted the same questions on both local and international forums, and I am glad to see the comments offered here is more constructive!! Not only 叫你放位，比LS個位d好想入的人！
I am also facing similar situation, got my 1st choice from allocation (not a famous school) and originally planned to go to IS. It took me awhile to decide! Not that we didn't plan for the route for my kid but both paths are possible and as parents, it's very natural to have a more thorough analysis before concluding!
Both are good schools, just pick the one your family as a whole feel more comfortable!! ☺️

I just read the replies at the local forum and I find the replies are rude but funny. They are all asking you to give up Lasa or saying you are not well prepared when picking the right school for your kid. Nothing constructive at all! Now I'm convinced how people crave for laksa and 杜鵑 pops up in my mind again

佢地真係好mean囉！串到暈。憑乜話人冇prepare?憑乜話你讀半個學期就走？我只看到吃不到的葡萄是酸的。名校大家都想入。不過人地入到你去串人就極之小家。

其實樓主若不說說自己对兩間學校的觀感和自己的考慮因素，而及小朋友的特質。我估大家好難畀到佢實際的意見。只能generally說說罷了。
