HKU vs CU vs 英國 Bath University (Architecture)

我囝囝喜歡讀建築, 最終選科在香港大學和英國大學都報讀建築, 現時只有英國Bath University 有offer, 其他大學都未有消息, 假如HKU or CU Architecture 有offer, 不知道選哪一間較好?  大家可否給些意見呢?

你仔今年DSE？估計考到咩成績？bath offer 又要咩成績？

Obviously  BATH is the best option with the following reasons :

1, Less high level classmates means less pressure ;

2, BATH is being well-known in Building Studies all around the world ;

3, Full exemption to RIBA  ( The Royal Institute of British Architects )
  for all Honourable Graduate ;

4, Even it would cost much more than studying in HK ,  
    you would find it is a good long-term investment !

Bath University 既 Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering 係英國Top 3，好出名。

我囝囝本身讀IB , 佢都好鍾意Bath 呢間大學, 暫時冇其他offer, 都會以呢間為首目標, 希望今次考試可以達標, 順利入讀.

Is Bath's conditional offer higher than CU and HKU?
my friend got a 38 conditional offer for Bath psych but only 36 for HKU lol

32?! Really? Does your friend have excellent predicted grade and which school is he/she going? HK international or overseas? Prestigious, high ranking high school?

I'm also surprised to hear that.   Actually, two of my friends received the same offer.  One got high predicated grade, while the other was fair.   Both of them are studying in HK.

我女的同學去年也是HKU Architecture Conditional Offer 32/45. 那同學PG40+, 亦真係考40+ , Interview 那段時間,  前後交左成5,6個Assignments 比 CU / HKU, 包括係d 素描, graphic design 等.  好明顯呢類學科係較著重藝術天份.

雖是這樣, 但想不到低至32, 真的很愕然

32 是 final grade ，不是 PG。
以 PG 計，好像有 34 - 35 都去到 second stage，之後就要看 portfolio 和 additional submission，因為他們現在看 portfolio 比重很高。
這是跟隨外國大學 archi 收學生的做法，成績好但美術底弱，將來的路也不易行。

Congrats for your son offer. Architecture is a subject that quite heavily emphasis on artistic, design and creativity. If money is not a concern, go and study in UK (part of Europe as a whole) will be more benefit to the student.  Additionally, professional registration will not be an issue having graduated in UK.
Although we should not look at the league table too seriously, but it still give us some benchmark. Here the complete university guide 2016 just released, Bath Archietecture got the No 1 again for a few years.

多謝大家寶貴意見, 我囝囝本修冇修讀Visual Art, 我相信港大和中大Architecture 收佢既機會很微, 我哋已經打定輸數.

		HKIA also recognize the equivalent professional degree courses in the mainland or overseas universities which are accredited by :
		- The National Board of Architectural Accreditation (NBAA) of China
		- The Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA)
		- The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of USA
		- The Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA)
		- The New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB)

	c)	Graduates of Other Schools
		Before graduates from non-HKIA accredited or recognized professional programmes may apply for the HKIA/ARB Professional Assessment, their academic qualifications and standards will be subjected to an Academic Qualifying Assessment held by HKIA. Application for Academic Qualifying Assessment shall be made in writing to the HKIA.

No worry. The Bath architecture degree is fully accredited by ARB.
