Just come back from a long Easter holidays
Same as your son, he likes his school very much.  Happy school life, of course, sometimes feels lonely.  There will be 5 Hong Kong boarders leave this summer.  Left only my son and 2 elder HK boys.  But he told me there will be 3 to 4 new comers from HK to join this September. One is from his previous school in HK.  Grateful to hear about it.

There are over 100 boarders in my son's boarding house not mentioned the other four boarding houses.  There are nine Year 9 Hong Kong students (4 girls joined the school in Jan 2015) so he does not feel lonely at all.  The school consists of over 80 acres and he plays various sports for several hours a day.  He sleeps at 9:30 pm and the house master would patrol the boarding house every half hour after the sleeping time.  It is a pity that he cannot meet his former classmates in this school.

Yes, they play lots of sports during boarding. Son glows muscle obviously after half a year training!
By the way, do Wymondham join the CCF program (Army, Royal Air Force & Royal Navy)? My son already enrolled RAF for coming Sept.
If yes, it is worth to play one of the training. It would be a valuable experience to be obtained that can't be gotten in HK. And also, it's a good subject to be added in the future CV.

剛同朋友傾過 改制後沒有了 AS (即 sixth form 考嘅試) 只有考 A level 嘅分去報 UK 嘅大學 佢話如只有 A level 嘅成績 有些 UK 嘅大學唔會有 offer 因沒有 GCSE 嘅成績  請問沒有考 GCSE 是否有很大影響 請幫忙解答 thx

考唔考AS 應該係學校自己決定。我2月去 school visit 時都有問呢個問題。副校長話由於 oxbridge 仍然會refer AS 成績，所以我女間學校會繼續報考 AS。副校亦有講，話以佢所知，有幾間男校決定唔考AS，只考A level。
我估唔考AS而又收 外國學生直讀 sixth form的學校，應該都會有對應方法，你不妨直接向你有興趣的學校查詢。

小兒在港的 MATHS / M2 的成績很好, PHY/CHEM 的成績不錯, 但中文/ENG/LS 不太有信心, 問過相關的老師, 阿仔以現時的成績睇, 考DSE ENG/LS 是 4, 以他理科強, 文科弱的程況下, 想在 HK 讀完 F5, 下年到 UK 讀 sixth form 考 A Level  經 non-jupas 考回 HK 大學, 請問行呢條路是否有利,  請有同樣經驗的家長, 分享一下 thx

行，但好看你孩子入果科，A L，| B，聯招，轉科生可，加上面試表現，最好有推薦信，如醫生，有醫院/敎授信等

Hi KopyKat,
如果是選私校， 可以看看家長們在其他forum 的 推介
如果選公校而成績尚可，可試試 Gordon School, Hockerill Anglo-European College, Sir Roger Manwood's School, St. George's School, Wymondham College 等
除了宿費、guardian fee、機票，還有一些數目不大的雜費等

There is still AS level, but it is not mandatory to sit for it like now.  That's for I have been told.
