但出題怪

我看過CIS 的卷


感覺很怪....


我舉個例

有一次CIS 測數學

學校測驗, 問60蚊, A :B 分1:2

問你A B 各有多少錢

學生, 要將60蚊, 斬開三分, A  有1分, B 有2分

這些題目在SIS 算淺

很早就教

A 有 60   * 1/(1+2)  =20

立即知20蚊, 攪咁多做乜

CIS 用鬼佬教法教書

上到去很辛苦,CIS  同ESF 一樣教法


CIS 與ESF 學生早期質素差不多

我看不到大分別

但CIS, 與SIS 早期學生, SIS 已經很明顯跑贏


外國人教書, 外國人思維怪



SIS 數理方面強CIS 好多

因為SIS 本身, 在IGCSE 時 行CIE , 有機會讀ADDITIONAL MATHS ,

academic excellence 的學生不少



SIS 比CIS  強`好多讀書

但CIS 交際, 其他方面, 都比SIS 強

所以父母是想怎樣的小孩

讀書型, 紀律型 就SIS,SIS 運動都OK

交際型, 非讀書型, 就CIS, 即畫畫, 唱歌, 運動非讀書技能


CIS 去到行IB DP 考大學最後2年

執得好緊, 好似你數學IB 來說, 有三科

HL  MATHS 最深

SL MATHS 中間

STUDIES MATHS 最淺

你讀讀下, MATHS SL 不夠成績, 會俾學校 叫你落樓下讀STUDIES

SIS 早期, 數學教得深, 跟足新加坡制度教

SCIENCE 應該是最深的國際學校

考得好的SIS, 反宜去GSIS

SIS 讀IB MATHS ,只OFFER SL MATHS 及HL MATHS



SIS 學校在最後2年,PUSH 得好緊

個個星期測驗, MATHS, 之後CHEM ,2星期測一次

一星期, 最多測5科, 係咁測, PUSH 個predicted grade


CIS 很明顯少測驗好多

但CIS, 在非學術方面跑贏SIS 不少

CIS IB 平均分好似高過SIS

但極不穩定CIS, 2014年平均分比 2013年平均分大跌

SIS 反宜幾穩定

你想仔女做工程, 數理強的科, SIS

你想仔女,在軟實力方面較強, CIS


CIS 基本上, 在最後2年才轉型做讀書型

MYP 是非讀書型, DP 就谷得很勁很勁

星期一至五, 補補補


基本上, 你見到的成績, 都是俾錢打做出來

五年級，其實是幫仔仔同學問，那個小朋友挺聰明，但比較活躍。(我仔仔讀SIS,好開心，暫時不會考慮轉校。)

第二年SIS, 3-4個入中大港大醫學院(藥劑+醫科+牙醫) 2-3男1女

報OXFORD唔收, 入左中大醫學院

有個有OFFER 醫學院, 我不知有冇入到

港大醫學院收緊了NON JUPAS, 一個女仔入左牙醫

SL ENG, MATHS , CHI LANG B

HL CHEM,BIO, ECON

CIS 應該都 有類似人數入醫學院, 我知上年, CIS FAST TRACK 港大醫學院

1個有OFFER, SIS則ＦＡＳＴ　ＴＲＡＣＫ　無　ＯＦＦＥＲ

牙醫個ＯＦＦＥＲ　則是ＦＡＳＴ　ＴＲＡＣＫ　

其他學生，　到後期中大醫學院才出ＯＦＦＥＲ’


如果香港最大機會入醫，　我看是ＳＩＳ，ＣＩＳ，ＧＳＩＳ，李寶樁,WIS,唔計男拔,聖保羅男女中學

是旦中一間, 都唔需要轉

如果要博更大機會考醫學院, 就去英國名校

It is fair to say that the math and science in CIS are relatively weaker. But languages (especially English), humanities (especially History) are very strong.
2014 cohort has weaker IB results because of 2 reasons (my own opinion):
1. 2014 is a relatively weak cohort (let's wait and see the result of 2015)
2. In CIS, 50% of students aim at US universities. They will stop studying after Nov when the last transcript result is out. Close to 50% of students will not study hard for the actual IB exam. This trend will continue in CIS. I think in other IB schools, more students will aim at HK and UK universities, which give conditional offers and thus dependent on actual IB results.

算多人讀lang a 中文

成級 cdnis , 都係得3-4個人讀中文lang A

後尾2年, 我見CIS 追分數,追得很平

數理差的人, 多數轉左做STUDIES, 或轉科

其實去到, IB 最後CIS 與SIS 計數能力, 差不多

早期的落後, 已大幅收窄

所以我覺得SIS, CIS 都無須轉校


要轉就轉考試制度, 不是轉校'

CIS 功課古怪

老師要你跟佢方法

但老師方法, 是鬼佬形式做野

都係怪MYP 無統一好多野

諗野較慢, 細密, 做得慢

去到DP , 老師就放手, 俾學生自由的空間

如果家長唔 buy 西方自由教育，崇尚亞洲式學術致上，為乜唔讀本地？除非無資格讀本地。

陳茂波单野，佢未比人告之前，報紙有報導，班里面好幾個學生和家長投訴過果对twins…不過后来陳做了官，焦点吾同左。

If the child aims at studying medicine, the following points should be considered:
1. How to achieve a perfect or nearly perfect score at IB

The requirement for HK medical schools is IB 44-45, CU IB 43? It means the student needs to aim at grade 7 for all 6 subjects, plus 3 bonus points. We Chinese are usually strong at Math and Science. It isn't that hard to get grade 7 in Math and Science for a smart Chinese kid. But it may be difficult to get grade 7 in the 2 languages + humanities. My son (in CIS) is a Math & Science guy. Even without outside tutoring, he predicts that it is not really difficult to get grade 7 in Math and Science HL. However, over the years, CIS teachers and ways of teaching helped him to improve his English and humanities, and TOK too. Math and Sciences are easy to study (even by himself), but good English, essay writing skills, critical thinking and reasoning require the nurture of years at school.

2. Reputation of school (especially during university admission selection and interview)

When my son attended interview at HKU, and alumni interview of top US universities, the interviewers all mentioned "Oh, you are at CIS". He saw certain advantage being at this school.

3. Competitiveness of classmates

The reputation of CIS attracts many of the most competitive students to study there. Yes, shoe shining is a common phenomenon, especially in senior years. Shoe shining in the ways to catch attention of teachers in classes, in order to get a good predicted grade. Students have to be very involved in classes, asking sensible questions, provide insightful feedback instantly.
My son wasn't nervous when attending university interviews. He said, during TOK, language and humanities lessons, he often had to debate with teachers and classmates, and many of those classmates are in debate team, world scholar team. He felt he couldn't have been challenged more in the interviews than in those classes.

CIS is not a perfect school. Like many other schools, it has many flaws. However, if I were that boy, I would choose CIS.

一，孩子不喜學中文，不看任何中文晝，過不了dse中文關。二，孩子適合ib的教學方式，有獨立思考能力，数理及英文寫作有天份。三，希望他有愉快的童年。

The best way to get in local medical schools is actually via the local route. Or so it seems.

本地大學醫科畢業，只能在香港執業，你對香港的將來有信心嗎？現在醫學院是6年加1年實習，投資(以時間及金錢計)不小。
