Haaa! Its always good to identify both pros and cons! If I remember correctly, SIS used to provide French as third language. Personally I think swimming is good enough, for health reasons. For promoting sports as an interest, I agree we could always do this outside school.

IS的好處是少d消磨人心志的無聊功課，對小朋友學習興趣的干擾較小。

應該係 "必收" 同 "必唔收" 會最早收信，通常係過年前。但唔會一次放哂100個位，會留起一些位俾預算稍遲來港的新加坡人。跟著就因應enrollment 既情況，出 Rejected 同waiting 信，呢個時候應該越遟收到信越好，表示你係學校越想保留的，wait 到位既機會較大。

If I and my daughter are Singaporeans, it it guaranteed that she will get a place at SIS, even if her apply for P1 grade (but not PY1 grade)? Or does she still need to pass the interview and written tests?

Jane, 我們是去年插班讀五年級的。在高小時，學校會推荐一些資優的program，如cty,家長可自行决定是否參與。另外，這間學校真是好的没得说，孩子讀得輕鬆快樂，知識掌握得也扎實。

有資優課程嗎，真係好消息！學校是好好，符合了我們最初想要的校風純樸、學術強勁和英普語境的要求。大家能為小朋友搵到個好地方落腳，真值得高興。

Yes, mandarin will be tested during interview. And I don't think they guarantee places for Singaporeans, just priority is given. It is necessary to prepare and pass all interviews and written.

昨天有報章的報導提到，現時SIS全校學生中 47% 為新加坡籍，即non-Singaporean 為53%, 這算是一個比較官方的數字。不過留意到自從近年開了中學部後，是多了新加坡小朋由PY 開始讀上去。

没有，非Singapoean其實好難真系pick up到果種accent的，因為那是24/7，家庭的訓練。尤其小朋友已識講英文，佢地已有自己一套。

I couldn't help but wonder why is Singaporean English accent "strong" in particular, compared to other accents?
