You're not the first case I heard of myopia grows at this fast. There're several options:
1) ordinary eyeglasses.
2) 漸進鏡. You've already used but not improving.
3) Atropine medicated eye drop. I personally do not prefer it as it's chemical.
4) Ok lens.
My two kids have been wearing ok lens. My boy wears it since 2nd term of P1, few months before he turns to 7. My elder has been wearing it for 3 years, her myopia stops developing, so does my younger one. I know some people are very against it. So you have to do research for yourself. My experience is I ensure lens are cleansed thoroughly, try avoiding rubbing eyes, check eyes frequently to prevent infections, I don't see any adverse effect yet. My objective is when they grow up to certain age when they can handle day time lens on their own, they can then switch to using day time contact lens. That is to say, wearing ok lens is just a transition solution to try stopping myopia growth. Myopia growth substantially when they are at young age.
no matter what, more outdoor activities definitely help. However, the amount of such activities have to be substantial in order to totally stop myopia from further developing. My boy does more outdoor activities during summer, his myopia grows at lesser extent. Besides, I strictly check on their sitting posture and remind them of keeping a distance from books. |
