ICA has had a lot of good reviews in the past couple of years (correct me if I am wrong).

Yes, although ICA is a relatively new school, it has received pretty good reviews.

You can search this school in Facebook. ICA always posts many photos and updates there.

In my opinion, both schools are caring and supportive to students, I suggest you choose a school which suits your child.  

My son is currently studying at KIS year 2, he has been studying this school since Reception.  He likes this school so much even we turned off the offer from ESF in Yr 1 as I found he needs a caring n small class size school.

ICA is a true Christian school which adheres to biblical teachings. This could be a plus or minus point, depending on the family. Not sure how much Chinese they teach either. I think KCIS has a stronger Chinese program... (not a parent of either school)

ICA的中文是不行的.  我不敢說老師都很好這句話, 因為我不認識全校老師.  只能說我女兒今年讀第四年了, 每年的老師都很好.  上星期見家長, 她的老師對學生的學習態度和達標有一定要求, 而他說了一句:  現在很多學校只追求學術, 忽略了德育,  其實教孩子德育最重要是在小學階段培養. <--萬分同意.   

學術上ica不是最勁, 但跟很多有名的is相信都是差不多 (除了個別以學術聞名的is外).

我個細嘅係英基, 我覺得麻麻地. 佢學校比ICA好係:  1.  設施好d 2.  有中學直升.
CONS:  對唔住, 唔好同我講人數冇影響, 我個大女一班15人, 細仔係英基, 一班30人 (有助教).  我知自己兩個小朋友係物野material, 我個仔嘅數底本身好好 (係一個真正montessori 仔出身, 到而家我都叫佢sorting king, 好鍾意sort 野), 但係上堂竟然教唔識佢, 我係屋企花左3分鐘教會佢.  佢老師係一個好caring嘅人, 但係太大班, 我覺得係manage唔到, 好多野要靠屋企.  另外細仔學校d小朋友冇大女學校咁乖.  

我比佢留係英基只係為左中學, 另外學校真係好近我地屋企 (行路唔洗10分鐘).  如果冇中學直升, 我根本唔會考慮.  

係英基小學讀, 又想學到野, 除非你出去補習, 或自己可係屋企跟得貼, 又或係個細路本身係好專注聽老師講, 亦都有咁上下醒.  如果小朋友係容易分心嘅, 老師都唔得閒成日執你出來, 只好自求多福.

torunpoland, 我覺得自己對英基評得比較中肯, 因為我另外一個係其他學校讀緊.  有時睇到d人寫英基小學一面倒好, 但最緊要係有冇平衡比較, 有埋另一間可以compare.  我個仔讀緊, 唔通我想學校唔好咩?  我唔係話ICA最好定點, 讀耐左你會發覺除非係自己開間學校, 否則一定有野係唔滿意.  另一方面都好睇小朋友程度同性格.  如果我個女讀得上, 我都可能比佢試下弘立 (當收佢嘅話), 一年班要小朋友認2000中文字呀! 你估人人做到咩?

Hi

For my son's case, I don't expect his Chinese will be on the same level like local schools, KCIS or ISF, so he has to go tutorial class every week.  KIS has 4 mandarin lessons per week.

For English level, KIS follows UK curriculum, which I think provides a solid foundation for students English, their teachers are all native, they only speak English at school so I don't find there is a problem with the English levels.

Learnt how to write sentences at the end of reception, eg write a sentence using 3 phonics words which just learnt ie one sentence includes 3 phonics words, show n tell during lessons

Yr1- learnt to write stories, story book, not finish in one lesson, comprehension, they read the passage together, then answered questions without reading the passage, my son said they have to remember the story so that they can answer those questions.

When I bring him for play dates with friends from other international schools, he has no problem to communicate with them.

I m not sure whether this is good or not as we haven't tried other IS.

我朋友本身係IS teacher，放學後跟不同IS小朋友補習，宜家同一位ICA year 1學生補英文，佢話莫講ICA 的中文程度超淺，連英文都淺到佢有點不能相信。如果我冇聽錯，好似話year 1學緊3個字母既生字.....

至於學生乖否，相信間間都有乖有曳。ICA也應該不會另外，曾經聽過ICA因為平時冇什麼功課做，所以依舊可以好似kindergarten 時候咁經常放學後call play dates, 當中有香港家庭和外國家庭，一樣發生小朋友之間杯葛另外一位小朋友，推撞等事件....學校根本就係小社會縮影，什麼性格、種類既人都有些。唯有父母自己教好和適者生存。

我所指唔係因為家教問題, 係聽返我兩個小朋友比較老師係recess time對待小朋友問題, 因我個女都讀過ESF一段短時間, 所以兩個細路都識比較, 而我問返好多ＥＳＦ同校同學家長, 佢地都覺得老師處理(或絕大部份都係唔處理) 係習以為常.  ICA的確係比較注重德育, 呢方面會花多D時間同學生講.  我唔係話ICA冇頑皮D嘅學生, 而係呢方面, 學校真係take it very serious, 亦因為每班人數多少, 老師真係可以睇得緊D.

至於ICA學生程度, 我都可以作一客觀D比較.  Y1係不能作準, 因為佢地會重頭教, 如個別學生有能力, 可以學深D.  我個女就係macdullbaby口中個種Y1入學時只識3-letter-word嘅小朋友.  當時佢有同學睇緊chapter books, 係佢自己不濟, 又唔肯聽我教.  到我個細仔入ICA Y1, 入學前我教哂佢phonics, 睇peter and jane到level 10, 所以佢係班中一開波reading係超前.  我個女插班ＥＳＦ　Ｙ３，學術上唔算超前, 但絕對係average以上, 而我除左中文, 並冇其他補習.  當時校長面試我兩個細路,一個in Y2 (end of Y1時in), 另一個Y3 (end of Y2 時in), reading 都評為比佢地要求嘅平均快一個學期.

我所見 (我入過ESF同ICA (以前有, 而家冇, 因為佢地一班人少, D小朋友都大, 唔需要)做parent helper).  ESF的確係難manage好多, 因為一班人多, 上堂老師對程度跟唔上又或成日掛住傾計個D真係顧唔到咁多(自己做野個陣時，老師講野梗係唔傾得）＜－－呢樣係老師自己親口同我講，但我呢個老師已係好好，好caring。佢後來知道我個女退學返ICA, 一班十幾人, 佢都好羨慕, 佢話咁樣老師先可以比多D時間每個小朋友.  ICA 就算程度參差，但人少Ｄ，所以work session時小朋友會集中Ｄ，聽話Ｄ。最近我見完家長, ICA老師話阿女對某數學CONCEPT唔理解, 老師可以坐係到陪佢做幾題, 但係我個仔個班就好難一個一個睇.  呢個就係不同之處.
