It is a very good school. All staffs and teachers are nice and kind.

I live literally next door to it.  The students seem happy, they talk to each other in English, accent usually Nth American. The fees are resonable, no debenture. It's one of my target schools.

Are your kids studying  now? Is it difficult to attend assessment test if apply?

Got 2 friends' son from KIS, they said the primary school is good as the kids are quite discipline (because Korean mums are strict). As I also live next to KIS, from my observation, primary kids are good in discipline and manners.

My personal experience is, my kids had been going to summer school in KIS for the past 3 summers, they all said teachers are extremely friendly and caring, and so I have a good impression about this school.

Sorry that I have no idea about their academic level, perhaps other parents who have kids studying in KIS may help u.

Yes, my boy studied there for 3 years ( till Year 2). My boy cannot adapt the heavy burden of local school so he joined KIS. He had interviewed with the Principal for 10-15 minutes.

But there are more Chinese and HK local students; and the school can choose the interviewers. ( around 3-4 Chinese and local students in the class Year 2 ).

So is your boy in international stream with  2-3 Chinese in class? What is the ethnic mix of the rest?

Yes, of course international stream. In my boys' class : 2-3 Chinese/HK local students, 1-2 Bristish students, 2-3 European students, 1-2 Indian students, others are Korean students ( 16-18 );   
There are two Year 2 class and totally 48-50 students .

This is a very good school and highly recommended.

Thx a lot rickykhlam. May I know the Chinese levels taught in kis? I understand it is not comparable to local school but is it enough to train kids to read and write ?

For Chinese levels, KIS only teaches Mandarin only ( simple Chinese and no Cantonese ). My boy needs to learn Mandarin and Cantonese outsides.

For IS, I only know SIS/CNIS put much effort on Chinese levels. ( not comment any fake international school)

1) For KIS, maths is not easy. It introduces the concept of divisor at the end of Year two. But most of students can catch up.
2) You can apply anytime because when there is vacancy, the school will offer you an interview immediately.
3) There are two students coming from ESF( One comes from Japan and one from England). There are also KIS students transfer to ESF or other IS.
There are many resaons that students change schools such as parents jobs rotation to other countries; some like " Asian style " IS which offer homeworks everyday and parents are more strict; some are foreign citizen( like me).

There are no prefect school in the world which can suit all students. Meantime, it is more difficult to teach the " parents " rather than the " students ".

You can apply anytime and KIS will give you interview when there is vacancy. I guess it is not quite difficult to get in.

But why should you need to change from local school to IS? I don't think it is easy to change back from IS to local school! Your children will not adapt the local school any more.
