為何只選這兩間? 參考Ranking 排名, Lancaster 係高過Cranbrook, 但Cranbrook 係Kent, 相對比較吸引, 而且成績都好好, 是區內搶手的grammar school, 有多local students 都想入
Lancaster 太北了, travel 需要相當時間 (來回機場, 如選Manchester Airport, 會近些), 但個人覺得太北上了
為何不考慮Adam's Grammar, Royal Grammar, High Wycombe? 或 Sir Roger, 都不錯吖

冇錯, 而且 Kent 比較多中產及退休人士, 一個比較優美及安全的地方
北方人(中部以上) 大多有北方的地道口音

多謝大家的意見。 小兒剛考了Cranbrook的Y10入學試，在等候結果中。近日Lancaster 又email 我說有位，通過入學試便可入讀。

由於兩所學校的Alevel成績都很好，因此有點取捨疑難。 以交通及地區計，Cranbrook 的確較為好，但LRGS的排名較高及偏辟，也是專心唸書的好地方。

另外，也希望對這兩家學校的內部情況知多一點，例如學校的drugs & bullying 情況，老師對學生的態度及耐心，boarding 的情況等。 始終小兒要在此校渡過4年，擔心萬一選擇不當就麻煩了。

因此希望有Cranbrook 及Lancaster 的BK 家長或同學能分享一下有關學校的情況，tks.

如果你着重學業成績，ranking是考慮為主。Lancaster 排名當然是高一些而且比較少香港學生，好少説中文及跟香港同學交流，，當然英文進步會好很多。地區較北，可以專心，謮書 and take open exam.
但如果你仔仔希望有多一些香港學生交流一下crankbrook 應該多些及適合一些。

另我也想問Cranbrook 入學考試是不是在香港自己學校考，crankbrook 學校email 試卷到你讀書的學校。考什麼科，仔仔說深不深？。因為我也打算跟女兒明年申請幾間不同學校,謝謝


你有沒有考慮 Ripon grammar school and Royal grammar ,都是 very good schools

Dear KK0202, thanks for your comment. From the view of parents, we'd rather like my son grow up in a safe and pleasant environment.

We have heard some rumours for LRGS that bullying was reported to school but was swept into carpet. We feel not comfort if we send our son to a school ignoring bullying. It's bcos my son aldy suffered in his F.1 at a B1A school in Hong Kong. We can't afford him to be hurted again. That's why I want to seek comment from the insiders instead of choosing school by acedemic ranking only.

For Cranbrook, the Year10 on-line exam covering verb-reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and quantitive reasoning. It was taken at British Council and last for 150min (50 min for each). My son spent about 120 min to complete.   

My son either join Cranbrook (if get an offer) or apply Adams and the Royal Grammar in coming autumn for 2015 Y10 intake through AA.

Cranbrook is better pls go there.

By the way how much d u pay for the exam? We were not told to take exam in HK but need to do it in uk, so we gave it up,

Thanks. For Year 9 intake, they need to take at the UK. But, Y10 may take at British Council at cost $1,200 only..

odelia_ho and Scso, thank for your advice.

Why don't u apply other schools at the same time? Still get chances, still get plenty of time to make up your mind.Nevertheless, year 10 places are very limited.

我可能說得不清楚，由於小兒是apply今年九月入學的Year10,心儀的state boarding只有Cranbrook 及LRGS表示有小量boarding place，故在此請教大家。
經与小兒细心分析後，已婉拒LRGS.

昨晚已經收到Cranbrook回覆，表示小兒已經通過了入學試，做埋interview就可以出offer.

還有一事請教大家，小兒現唸F２，由於是I月出世，按UK制度要唸Y１０，對小兒來说，可以應付嗎？

學校offer 你今年入Year 10或是你自己要求 ? 小兒今年也是Grade G8, 九月入讀Year 9, 他都是年頭出世, 2000年
為何不讀 Year 9? Year 10是gcse o leavel 的開始, 又要適應新環境, 又要適應新學制兼開始準備公閞試, 比較辛苦喎

我個仔都係2000年年頭(三月) ，佢讀緊國際學校yr. 9 所以去英國係year10, 會同英國同學"同齡，係香港local school 學生通常大一年。 如果學校比，可以"跳"級。

係呀, 通常會大一歲, 但冇計, 一過去入Year 10, 始終覺得不太適合
