The contract was clearly stated $9000 will not be refunded if you choose to give up the offer after paying.  That's why Vic give parents up to May 2 to pay that $9000.  Don't think this is Victoria issue.

no need to have such great response, as I have quoted, I only want to let my case known by other inexperience parent like me, who naively thought that '建設費' is different from '留位費' to which the Education Bureau has banned and set rules on that.  No intend to ask for anything as I am very clear that it is no use.

不會, 689都時常開啦. 但銀行會有記錄, 如將來申請loan等, 會作參考因素.

This should be true for everyone who went for 2nd interview at Vic.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  

At the end of the interview, the principal/teacher mentioned to parents about the $9000 levy.  The purpose is for all the books and education materials used during school year and that it will not be refunded until end of K3 or 2 months prior to withdrawal.  Before leaving the interview, the principal confirmed with parents that they are ok with the levy and that all is clear about refund policy.  Honestly, I believe the child will not receive an offer if parents answered no.  Now the same was once again written black and white in the contract.  So I guess inexperience parents, like me or all other 1st time parent, shall not naively misinterpret the policy the way you did.  

I'm also just sharing my thoughts with inexperience parents, 不喜勿插。

學校封offer letter 寫得非常清楚, purpose and terms of the levy 寫得好清𥇦，中、英文版對照，而且second interview時校長亦講解清楚，況且有長達一個月時間比家長考慮才比9,000 levy, it is not the issue or fault of the school.這樣的comment 可能會 mislead inexperienced and "naive" parents.

这是很好的教训。我不是想误导任何人，我的目的主要是提醒其他家长，在选择学校和留位是要好好考虑，代价会是很大的。

2nd interview時校長有清楚解釋過，亦有好清楚問我地同唔同意，文件上亦寫得好清晰，的確唔係學校問題… 樓主經過今次，以後簽咩文件都要小心啲

谢谢你的教训。我也有反省自己是不是那么不讲道理和你说的“输打赢要”。是的，是很清楚解释有关那9000的用途和目的。不接受就=不用再interview。我也明白。为了小孩，而且这家也是好的学校，也得接受。这是很好的经验，我的目的是分享这次经验和看法。无论大家同意与否，非常感谢大家的分享。

大家有冇諗過教育局有指引唔可以亂收錢？我明白合約係合約，但係大家有冇諗過其實d學校唔應該巧立明目去收留位費以外既錢？

冇幾耐之前，英藝早左收書薄費比人嘈到上教育署，白紙黑字簽左名又如何？都要退錢。係forum比人鬧爆

好啦，york都係，要收錢但講明未到日子唔過數，仲可以refund。因為比人嘈

維記，點解要設立「levy」呢？如果有人留位後放棄offer,call waiting 大把人去讀啦。


如果維記要我比9000我會比，但只係無奈去比，唔會覺得呢樣嘢係「跟指引」做囉。唔可以話受歡迎既學校就做咩都啱，應該要諗一諗。

唔好玩啦，kissobaby 講是否可以收費，你一開始就話人哋唔講清楚，到其他人話學校表達得十分清楚，你自己都話學校有講明。

學校要收＄並不是怕無人讀，我相信香港無幼兒園會怕無學生。維記幾年前提高了留位費是希望真心想入讀的家長才交費用，始終＄9000不是小數目。
