其實YC真的那麼差都不會有能力在大陸，USA開那麼多學校，我有親戚讀YC，D英文都幾native，她說上學都上的幾happy，like 個campus。我當時都有想過YC，但中國人太多，先無去，其實耀中資源幾好， 有個Yew Chung Farm，外國老師都幾多。

其實唔知大家點define大陸人。我識得好幾個從北京和上海YC轉黎香港YC嘅家庭，小孩都系攞美國護照，父母雙方或者父or女其中一方都系美國海歸，係跨國大公司高層，一口流利美式英語，只不過平時跟自己仔女溝通會講翻普通話，可能咁樣就比人覺得係無水平嘅土豪大陸人！很多選擇YC的家庭都系因為它的network，家長的工作會比較mobile，會長駐不同大城市(我們就是其中之一！)另外，我們也看中YC的中文程度，老實講，在foundation years我們深信中文比英文重要！到了upper elementary，中文基礎打穩了一點之後，就可以再加強英文，這也是我們走的路，so far it works very well.

中英兼備，又用繁體字。

香港YC我不肯定(我們搬回香港沒有選擇YC純粹因為學費問題！)，但是北京上海YC基本上是簡體字，但是因為有部分香港台灣學生，所以也有繁體字班。雖然我地係香港人，但系當年我地都系放阿女在簡體字班，回香港現在繼續用簡體字，涵接沒有問題！

我剛才問了我姪女，她說First Language 用繁體， second  Language 用簡體。

都系果句，香港YC我唔肯定，但系如果讀國內嘅YC，係好取決於小朋友本身對英文有無興趣(這點可能要看看幼稚園嘅培訓或者家庭本身有否這方面嘅環境培養)，平時Playdate同人定鬼玩得多等等。學校本身好鼓勵閱讀，老師嘅水平都好好。

I am quite astound by not even obtaining an interview at YCIS this year. My boy got offers from all 3 schools he interviewed for, and our family background is not bad. We applied over two years ago as well too, so i still have no idea why my boy didn't even get a chance at it (although YCIS is not one of our top choice so it is actually okay).

I heard rumors that there has been lots of 'donations' from our 'homeland' to this school in recent years. Would that be one of the cause? I do not mean to spread negativity nor do i have 'sour grape' issues, just that i'd like to find out why...

阿女之前上海YC嘅同學，上個月申請internal transfer到香港YC中學部，一樣無位要waiting。  拒妹妹係上海讀另外一間頗出名嘅私立小學，同時申請香港YC小學部，雖然係sibling，考試一樣唔過，連waiting都無。所以成日有人話YC只要比得起錢，基本上咩人都收，我好懷疑囉！

my daughter applyed yc for year six last October and got an offer call around two month before. We rejected the offer as my girl also had an offer from a esf primary school. yc is always not my cup of tea, but only to buy a水泡 as my husband said yc is a 學店 by collecting some of his colleague s comments.

學店 IB 成績也有 35分，不錯呀！
