今年 HKU LLB 對IB 生的 offer 是否比往年收緊了?

Should pay the deposit unless you have conditional offer from other U more desirable.  How about CUHK?  Have they given conditional offers for fast track applicants?

My son had 4 LLB offers from UK colleges but not from HKU in the year of 2007.

My son told me that in recent years, the international law firms tend to employ more LLB graduates from HKU as trainees because they have better foundation in Chinese. Unless you come from Oxbridge, LSE or UCL (with 2:1 or above), the overseas graduates face very strong competition from the HKU, CU or CityU, both LLB and JD graduates in the employment market.
If I were you, I would pay the deposit first unless your son does not want to study in Hong Kong.

我想我還是會交留位費的, 但想看看有沒有機會爭取比較好的offer. 至於CUHK 就收到email 話春天會有決定.

我也明白入PCLL的競爭非常激烈. 就算HKU 2.2 畢業也沒保證必入. 雖然到英國讀法律返港後還要面對 conversion exams, 但阿仔依然期望到英國升學.  下星期會作最後決定,  而我也希望留多個選擇以防他改變主意.

武斻, 若果是HL 6,6,6 我會接受. 因不能低於6己暗示了HL 要6,6,6.

IB : 39 + (not including TOK & extended essay) , ie at least 7/7/7/6/6/6
IB subjects including : Chinese language A & English language A

Do you mean it is required to take Chinese language A & English language A ?

According to Kym's son offer, 38/42 is the min.
Bilingual Diploma is a reasonable requirement.

Same as what I heard - specifically Chinese A and English A; not just Chinese A + a humanity/science subject or extended essay in English type of bilingual diploma.

有些家長及學校會好失望，無咗如意算盤。
不過三大的神科，應該堵塞這個漏洞！

那個介紹是KCL-HKU joint LLB degree program , 2 years Kings college London + 3 years HKU, 每年收生8-10 個，兼修English Law & HK Law,是皇帝女唔憂沒好學生，應該有不少接近perfect grade 的申請人吧！

我還是不知何謂神科？
有極大興趣又有能力讀好書的，必然有前途，神科不神科可以由學生來創造。

這個是指 2014 entry 或 2014後的呢? HL科有沒有特別要求多少科要7呢?

我手上本 Undergraduate Prospectus 2014-2015, 只列出 2013-14 Admissions Statistics. 其中 Non-JUPAS Admissions 關於IB Diploma 是 "Minimum 38 points of which a minimum of point 6 is obtained in each examined subject, excluding bonus points.".  我相信今年的要求是提高了，但妳獲得的資訊和我收到的offer不同, 所以我有些混淆. HL 6,6,6 和 SL 7,7,7 又得唔得呢?

HKU的Law中KCL HKU double LLB degree programme , 是競爭特大的，學位得十個以下，隨時有申請者是HL7/7/7天才，還要有Chinese A，因此隨緣吧！
相對其他LLB的要求會簡單點吧！

鼓勵小女去聽和問是希望她知道人家門高狗大，天外有天、千萬別誤會以為考港大很容易。

Your son have the conditional offer in hand, why bother the min requirement !
Take it as the ultimate goal, go for it.

Min. requirement does not equal to the acceptance requirement, universities can always accept those with better results, depending on the results of the applicants and no. of places available every year.   Not surprising at all for HKU to ask for HL 776 for LLB.  I wonder what will CUHK asks for, they won't like to have lower conditional offers than HKU, I believe.

I would have thought that the offer from CU  might be a bit less. Last year my friend's son' offer from HKU was 41 and from CU was 38. CityU' offer was 36.
