Past experience indicates that the higher the priority you put HKU Science programmes, the greater chance you will be admitted (HKU).
In the previous year, HKU admitted approximately 99% of the students in Band A. Generally, we will consider students who put our programmes in Band B. However, due to the relatively high admission standard of most of our programmes, the students who put our programmes in their Band B choices would normally be admitted by another programme in their Band A choices (HKU).

Among JUPAS Entrants Admitted to CUHK, 99.7% are Band A Applicants (CUHK 2013).

不用答得咁辛苦，看看英國UCAS有多少個選擇，不論大學數目及課程數目比香港多，都只有五個選擇，自己排優次及平衡風險是學生及家長責任。
根本不用20個，只看看不同大學及學科各取其類，3-7個已經好足夠。因為香港是極少數可以在出成績後調整優次，錯配機會好細，所以香港不用clearing round。整個JUPAS已經好偏就學生了！

中學一樣，大抽獎根本不用選太多，當年阿仔都是選擇7間，我覺得好夠，為何將一些九唔搭八填滿它。

冇錯, 選中學至大學, 我地好認真排完5個CHOICE之後, 之後既格都系亂甘填, 但求填門滿晒, 真係幾無謂

由於乙放在A1，乙會被取錄。

放係Band C，係無乜可能派到本科，但係Jupas喺放榜前有一次改Band次序嘅機會，即係你放得係A至E，都仲可以調整選擇。

So fill in the admission grades 24-42 out of 42 .... 超級大包圍。

當張五常未着草時，他曾在他專欄提到，JUPAS聯招是全世界最複雜嘅系统，佢同佢嘅同事都要花上無上心力，才能在此系统中選出成績好的學生。

連同阿大两個表哥，我接觸此糸统己有三届，加上我私下訪問一些叻人，仍是找不出完美答案。照你提供嘅答案看來，大學知道學生的選擇(不知排列)。咁印証了張五常之說法，各學系可能會去估學生嘅排列。坊間有傳說，某某學系恐嚇學生，如報其他學院同一學系，將不被取祿，也不是空穴來風。

我想問：大學只以學生的成績次序，交給電腦。和大學以學生的成績加上估計學生排列位置得出另一次序交給電腦，那個更好。如果後者，學生排名時更要花上心力了。
