Two class teachers per class

My husband attends the orientation session today.  
He says each class has two class teachers.  
Is this true ?
if yes, do each class teacher have different roles to perform ?

Yes, for my son one for Chinese one for English

I have not come across the dual class teacher mode.  do you mean one class teacher teaches Chinese subject and one teaches English subject ?
