Hangul is easier to master because it is just a set of alphabets, if you can speak Korean, it is relatively easy to learn to write Hangul because you are just writing down the sounds.
For the older generation of Koreans, many of them did make extra efforts to learn Chinese characters, but that has been on the decline for decades. Today if a Korean knows enough Chinese characters to read 金庸, he/she is likely to be over 60. |
