Hi pppwong, mine is mar-2012 baby. Since Kingston will not ask you to pay the application fee until they offered you an interview, and if they offered you an interview, that means your bb is 99percent accepted by them. Hence I still suggest you to put in your application.

I was also told that it was too late when I submitted my application, but at the end I still got a space :)

The bilingual environment of Kingston is the aspect which I like my son to join the school. But the only thing I worry is the family background of the kids studying in this school if most of them come from wealthy family. In my case, I am just a normal family and afraid if my son will be discriminate by the school. Any parents can share about this?
Except 宝山, i think all other so called 贵族 kindergarden are filled predominantly with middle class families. Also, compared with Yew Chung, there are noticeably less rich families in Kingston.

As in all kinders, the AM classes are always very full, with long waitlist (from those in PM classes). I heard Kingston was still interviewing PM candidates for 13/14 PG up to at least 2-3 months ago. Guess that's the HK culture that many parents give up PM classes. If you don't mind PM classes, I think it may not be that diffcult.

I personally prefer PM class, I got no choice anyway and Kingston only offered my PM. I like PM because my boy could sleep till 8 or some.  And I like sleep, too.
Can you advise why HK parents prefer AM? could spend PM to learn something?

According to the explanation from friends, most enrichment classes or extra curricular activities are only available in the afternoon, so if the kid is attending PM class, they can only arrange these during weekends, which rightfully should be meant for playing and family activities.  Personally I prefer AM not for this reason but the fact that my boy is a complete early bird and attending the schedule of a AM class can fit nicely into his daily routine.  However I will not give up an ideal school for this reason.

I see, not much of a concern for me then.  The PM class should fit my lazy boy.  Attending interested classes also a bit far from me at the moment.  So, happy with the PM offer.

Agree!  I don't plan to send him to any other classes too.  I think half day class is more than sufficient for a 2-3 years old.  Anyway hi here.  Didn't know it's you!

You could apply any time, stating in the application form the class you intend.  Mind you that PN and PG's capital levy is the same $72,000. If you enrol K1, then $36,000. They don't have K3.

i am so confused with PG, PN, K1 etc..... say I want to put him to school only when he reaches 2 years old. so 2015 aug to start with.  i should apply PG or PN?  seems kcc and kis both have 2 years old class..... so for kis they will study for pn,  k1 and k2 then directly to Primary school P1?  thx for answering my questions.

Play Group - usually for students before attending PN or K1

PN or N - refer to pre-nursery, the 2-yr-old class

K1 - from 2.8 years onwards

Kingston got no K3

In Kingston, after completion of K2, you can enroll their primary 1 but with another capital levy, which is $72,000 this year

As far as I know, most kids applying get in in the end, although some only get in the PM class. Apparently, 72,000 is still a considerable amount.

yes the capital levy should be a consideration as if your kid doesn't like the school and wants a change, the 72,000 will be gone.

You started already? How is it? My only concern with kingston is the secondary school, which is so far away and don't know if the exam result is good.
