I am not sure how many students opt for IB initially.

If 200 students compete for 90 seats, you need to upset some students. If 90 seats for 70 applicants is another story.

其實如果小朋友的中文唔叻, 唔讀中文讀其他外語考IB BD會唔會好d呢? Year 7 才開始學會否太遲?

In 2012, only 27% of CIS students studied Math HL, 53% SL, and 20% Math Studies. I think the % of DBS students studying Math HL is more. It means that only those CIS students who are very good in Math or have confidence to score high in Math would choose Math HL.I hope it explains the average high score in Math HL in CIS.

I would say it is so impressive to have 67% bilingual  diploma at ISF.  If taking  more comfortable route, students can take either one as the first language so as to have at least 1-2 average points up  easily.  However, the number of candidates is still not much in 2013.  As soon as they have nearly hundred candidates in IB examination , and achieve nearly the same B/D, I would give 'thump up' absolutely.  Well done.

Annie40 is correct, CIS in Maths HL, SL and Maths Studies are a bit better than DBS last year. Some students in IS can be very good in Maths.

But then 67% is already the highest amongst all other IB schools (I believe!?)........I hope you are not expecting only 100% BD can be a bilingual school.  In fact, all of CKY, VSA, ISF claim themselves bilingual school.

Congratulations Class of 2013 on your IB Diploma Results

Congratulations on obtaining such excellent IB Diploma results: one student with 45 points; 10 students with 44 points; 35% of students with 40+ points.  These are excellent results.  Very well done.

When I look at the results what one can think about the journey that so many of you have come through to get the point score you did obtain.  Some of you overcame a personal difficulty and still achieved an excellent result or those of you who arrived with very limited English who not only developed proficiency in English but in other subjects as well.  These results are also outstanding because they do not show the whole picture of your achievements at LPCUWC particularly your involvement in Education Outside of the Classroom nor residential life.

These results would not have been possible without the support that I know you received most notably from the teachers at the College who have guided you through your subjects over the course of the two years.  I know you would want to extend your thanks to them to.

These results are a testament to a UWC education.  Very well done Class of 2013.

annie40, longer term, I think the goal of the school is to have 60-70% bilingual diploma.  I think that is roughly the % of students in the secondary school in terms of streaming into A vs B language classes.

Well done, LPCUWC!

35% with 40+ points means a group of 42 students. A great improvement as compared with 25.6% in Yr 2012, and it breaks the records in the past nine years.

Thanks for sharing.  Excellent results consistently.  Just one question:  I note that about 10% of students' scores in the past years were between 24 and 30.  I do not mean to be picky or I have a very high expectation on LPC, I am a bit surprised to see this ratio given the fact that the school has a very tight screening process on student intake.
