Tutortime, PODs or 嶺南？

TutorTime is for IS route only as far as I know.  PODs is a new school, and they claim that they suit both LS and IS routes.

Yeah....  they have both streams. But i mean it's only PN, does it really matter that much if going to TT but aiming for LS?

我揀咗PODs，因為我buy HKPS嗰套，雖然學費$6800一個月(收10個月)，但比較其他名幼，佢唔係貴好多，冇雜費，1對7。TT我都喜歡，小囡由5個月大開始上playgroup，真係唔差，睇住囡囡有進步，越上越好同開心；但佢學費$7800一個月，仲好似收足12個月，唔太化算，加上我target LS，佢係IS，唔係太啱。嶺南我未讀過，但朋友三個小朋友都讀過，佢話學校好有heart，不過程度比較淺。

仲有PODs嘅PN直上K，我囡好怕醜，我唔想再煩上K interview.。況且新校，佢哋頭幾年一定會盡心盡力搵好自己record，而且有HKPS做backup，所以我會博一博。

hi jp908, i am still struggling whether to choose pods. are you sure its 1:7?  there are only four classrooms, so would it be 2 pn classes and 2 k1 classes for 2013/14.?

I agree. As a new school they will try their best to build track record. Hkps also has strong record of kids going to top local schools like DBSPD. The new directors from pods are also fromDGS and Ivy League schools and now full time educators as well I think.  So I have confidence in the management team. The design of the school campus itself actually tells me a lot about the school. I was especially impressed by their selection of books in the library and toys. Seems like a lot of thoughts were put into this.
I have yet to find out the teachers quality though but so far I have had good experience with the Playgroup.

Last time I asked it was 1:8 not 1:7. But I guess still relatively low compared to other kinders.  I thought it was expensive before too but at this ratio I guess it's reasonable.

Are you in Tue and Thurs playgroup at 1600-1730? How is it? My girl will start from Jul onwards.

I am in Saturday playgroup international.  I like both the English and Mandarin teachers because they are both engaging and also have a good balance of story telling, singing & movement, art, sensory and gross motor activities. At the beginning of the month, they sent out a newsletter with the themes and learning objectives of that month.  I also like how they focus on training the kids etiquette (say thank you) and listening/paying attention at the right time, I guess to prepare them for PN.   Sometimes they also use flash cards but not excessive.  In some other playgroups I have been to before, they let the kids free play too much and there wasn't much teaching involved. I can do that at home with my own kid. Hope this helps.

感覺到PODS是有心的學校，他們用不同方式提倡閱讀的風氣很好（例如talk by Bring Me A Book）,很喜歡他們的書架，圖書選得很好， 能兼備學習知識及品德。老師質素很好及有愛心，相信他們會盡心辦好這間學校。
