升中最重要的都是校內成績，PTE 和 Cambridge可以作為輔助，但現在太多人有了。中學選生，尤其是第一輪都是看校內成績，再看是否有特異功能，還要是公開賽中獲得獎項。

作用不是十分大, 不過都可作為一個英語水平的參考, 因為宜家太多人有了.

對升中是完全沒有用的，這類課程實在太多小朋友考了，跟本中學並不會看的。你可當作是英語學習課程來看吧！

有名氣嘅學校,因為去考得嘅都周身刀,相信都唔會點睇D cert. 但如果好似呀女只係讀普通津校,考嘅又係普通中學,如果有張睇得吓嘅英文cert.自信心都會高D la.

就算大部份過來人家長坦白講沒有用，箇中人都一樣會安排孩子去考！

貼士是有少部份中學收生要求有英文語文能力，那些證書可能有些用。我在一帖列出部份地區名校寫明英文語文能力。

不然，收生準則都沒有寫，老師對住3、4000份申請表，會否細看？可以問問負責中學收生的老師家長！

以我這些懶人做老師，一定先用全港排名分出先後次序，除非有特異功能或校長或高層特別推薦........英文x9，都反映出實力了！

我實活實說而已，可能令人有風涼話的誤解，家長們大可以不用理會，繼續儲證書！

Primary school pupils taking PET is ok. But, for FCE or CAE may be a bit too much.

因為很多家長都是按一個公開考試咁考, 去粗略衡量吓小朋友英語水平. 又或按是一個課程去讀. 而又可自讀去考.
當中對升中有沒有用都已是沒關係的.

My son luckily entered an EMI school in Eastern District in this school year (2012).  Be frank, he doesn't have any language proficiency certificate.  He could get a place via "自行收生" as he could speak and response well in the second interview in English.  We parents were there and could see how they responsed to the Principal's questions and talked to other candidates in group interview.
I think for getting a place in an EMI school.  We have to help kids to bush up their speaking skills.
My daughter is applying for S.1 place in the coming year and we have attended one popular EMI school's meeting.  The vice principal directly said they won't count Cambridge or Olympic Maths Certificate as they would only "count" academic results from candidate's school.
