Actually, she has did it twice - one at the age of 8 and the 2nd time at the age of 10. She is expecting to do it again at a higher age which would have even more exciting challenge activities. As you expected, there are no sudden changes after 5 days but it is a good experience for them. They would see how different kids react to the challenges in different ways. In the camp, they have to tidy up their own bedding, they could not make any home calls during the whole camp period - a learning experience for parents too. Besides, they could have the opportunity to have fun in the real nature envirnoment rather than the virtual world of the internet that they spent perhaps too much time nowadays ... I think you could make a call to Outward Bound and they would be happy to explain in a lot more details. |
