You can check Casper College in Wyoming. Living expense is very low.

For private college ( 4 years ):
My experience is 1M.

For public college ( 4 years):
It should be around 600k+. For example http://www.stonybrook.edu/bursar ... and-fee-rates.shtml

For CC ( usually 2 years):
It is around 200k+. For example http://www.qcc.cuny.edu/bursar/tuition.html

Sunny is in ny? Living expense very high.  Better to go smaller town and easier to learn practice English.

Cannot agree more.  If you send yours kids to the US (in fact, any other countries) for study, stay away from all the Chinese (HK, Taiwan, mainland, whatever).   And stay away from big cities.   The chance of the kid picking up drugs and stuff will be lower.  Besides, the chance of developing a good command of English is higher.

One good thing about CC is if you can get good GPA, probably its easier to transfer to a better university  of course unless your kid already has very good SAT and TOFEL scores now.....
it's true that big cities will have more temptation for kids, but don't forgot some cities usually has a better chance of being "discriminated", especially if you need the mid state.....

I studied in CC and transfer to UCLA, got my MBA and work for over 10 years in US, I've seen a lot of Hong Kong kids never even speak English in big cities like LA and SF.....however, I have also seen a lot of "red neck" behavior in states that dont have a lot of chinese.
