only 5 mins a day? i didn't know that.  each the pth/eng lesson lasts for 30mins, so what else do they do in the else of 25mins?

any reasons of choosing rightmind?

IF I WANT TO PLACE MY KID IN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS.....


I would go for Rightmind because they teach chinese and English words at a very early age!  and Chinese is taught in PTH.

if you want fun and activities, you can always bring your kids to the park and playgrounds.  I don't like the idea of paying a school high tuition for playground equipment facilities.   I suppose people who pick Rightmind want they kids to LEARN something from the school in addition to self-reliance, proper manners and have fun with kids.

you can train self-reliance at home and proper manners at home and social skills can be acquired by arranging playdates.

In the end I didn't go for this school as I want local stream for my kid.  Also the school tuitions and other fees are beyond what I can afford.

Would choose Victoria. Not a lot of traditional primary schools buy the idea of flash cards.

I am not trying to argue with you but my humble opinion is.... nowadays, private primary schools all like to admit geniuses and whether or not they learn their stuff from flash cards or ipad or internet or incessant extra classes outside of school is not the private school's concern AS  LONG AS you are well trained.

May not be for every kid, as the curriculum is relatively advanced but it seems like it works

Agree! 我係讀教育出身,我都吾buy 呢套flash cards 教學！好多researches 對用flash cards 教學得出既結論都係negative 既,當然有所謂成功既case,但真正既教育係重身、心、靈發展而吾係強調'傑出'教育既！

agree geniuses cant be produced by training  but fact of life is private primary schools admit students .by examnation and/or interviews and to win this battle one needs to be well prepared to at least be smart and bright if not a genius.................

as for flash cards it works on some kids but not all..........the benefits of flashcards may not outweigh the drawbacks and it is really personal whether or not you want your kid taught words this way........

I accept this completely so I have no issues......but thread owner should seriously consider this when making a decision..........

For us, the whole purpose of entering pn class is not only to learn "something" but also to grow in an environment without parents.  we want our kid to learn not ONLY WORDS but more like the social skills, learn to obey basic rules, the discipline, learn to be a caring person and so.  i think an all-rounded education is also important.  except for learning ONLY WORDS, both the gross/fine motor training is needed.  I'm not saying paying the high sch fees for gorgeous facilities (which the sch require us to pay for the capital contribution fund which is used to maintain and improve the facilities) but if they can provide what we expect, I'm willing to pay even more.  as I mentioned we want him to learn all these so as to grow in an environment without parents, it seems a little bit  unnecessary to arrange play dates.

i totally accept the idea of flashcards but I have a doubt if it's suitable for my kid.  I mean I don't know if my kid is able to learn "something" by this method.

我覺得如果Victoria收，讀佢好啲。 Victoria重英普而且課程同教法都ok，雖然唔包上其英小，但出路唔錯又教法適合個性活潑的孩子。
第二的話，我會選Rightmind，同樣重英普而且課程同教法都ok，雖冇直屬小學，但出路唔錯，大部分畢業生都入到好的英小，教法適合個性活潑的孩子。

Rightmind每星期有二日會讓學生到室內遊樂場玩，因為他們應為這有助孩子手腳協調及有助整體感覺統合，所以不用擔心沒有大肌肉的運動，而且學校鼓勵家長假日或平日可帶小朋友到公園及郊外走走玩玩。
他們大部分畢業生可以考到Band 1英小，我覺得與學校教弟子規有些關係。他們面試表現大體，不會太怕羞或太冇禮貌，以及那些學校都知道這裡的學生英普都OK，對小學課程應該冇問題。

我仔仔讀緊right mind pn，佢好鐘意返學，放學都要攬完老師先走.
其實學費好似偏貴，但到而家都冇其他雜費，只係上.下學期一次書薄勞作費同夏.冬季校服要買，我覺得合理，比有啲學校學費平但每樣另計錢嚟得有預算(個人睇法)

Marketing 是好的，記得有些名人都系送小朋友去 Rightmind讀，不過甘都吳等於一定合你需要。

其實兩間學校都吳會差 （我系維記家長），語境都應該好，但Rightmind就貴d，但貴左有無好d就好難講。
