May I know does APA need audition for kids? What are the general standard of kids in APA? How about the courses, what are the pros and cons for APA and Music Office?

My boy plays percussion.  Is the competition keen to go into those Music Office's orchestras?  Please advise.

if he know timpani very well, his chance will be much more than the others~~~

I know my boy can play timpani but he usually plays xylophone & snare drum (for exam & music festival).  Even the audition, requesting to play xylopone or snare drum, how can they know the skill of playing timpani?

It depends on the question of supply and demand. Generally speaking, the no. o ...

That's always the problem of percussion.  The orchestra only needs several percussion players.  If there are sufficient players, no need to take new blood.

Separately, I have applied two band/ochestra of the Music office for my boy.  They set different minimum criteria of percussion, one say Grade 3 and another one say Grade 5 up.  Actually my boy is playing Grade 7 song, should he play higher level as he can or just play a Grade 5 song?  Any advice?  Of course, I think he should play one that he can play the best and smoothly.

Million thanks ilovethiscow.  Yes, seems every band/orchestra needs percussion players.  Recently more kids go to learn percussion.
