I think that Chinese Lang. and English should be at least a bit easier than the mock papers, if too many students fail , how can 考試局 explain to the public. Anyway, good luck to all candidates!

Noted, more students get better grades but still no chance for admission finally.....More students sit for HKDSE than HKAL, the same spaces. Expectation management.....

Agree this is expectation management, but I am thinking the other way round, I guess there was not enough 5*/5** or even 3 in the Chinese Lang. mock paper which implies too few students qualified for U entrance. Anyway, this is my guess only, need to see their final grades.

中文科除閱讀卷還有其他考卷, 不會有太多5*/5** .
剛聽到有考生講, 寫作卷 3條題目均難以選擇.

睇過阿女份卷, 兩篇文章深淺度算適中, 不過唔知題目點問, 好難講話深定淺. 阿女話淺過模擬試. 模擬試總分80, 平均分只得20, 都咪話唔深.

You are correct.

HKDSE not using standardised score for bell curve. They will use actual score as IB. It the first exam, we have no clue of the score boundary or cut off.
