有就好過無，但未必有很大幫助，有認受性高的比賽金奬幫助就可能大一點

阿仔中學樂團小提琴最低要求是5級， 8級小提琴升中可能有小小幫助。如果有全港比賽嘅獎項會好D。

Depends on the targeted school. If a school with orchestra, the school may consider more serious on the violinist. You can check which schools with orchestra or not and how many teams, you know the chance.

幫助應該唔大，而家呢個年代會有好多細路小學已考完8級(鋼琴同小提琴都係)

It does help a lot if it is distinction.

年尾考 >> But year end is too late. U can't get the result in time before the application process starts.
The latest time to take the exam should be this August.
If u can't get a good grade due to insufficient time, don't push your son to take the exam that rush.

Even though academic results is the most important factor, credits will be given to a good 8th grade violin exam result. Some DSS will give u an audition and increase your chance to get admitted or even give u a music scholarship. eg. For SPCC, u can apply its Young Talent Scheme,

我覺得幫助唔係咁大, 亞囝上年年尾兩樣都試完, 成績都幾好, 而學業中上, 但係今年INTERVIEW都..........

要看你心儀學校有沒有弦樂團 ? 五級以上都會計算你課外活動分數的.

如果会影響成績先至cut啦.
我仔出年五年級,本應可以考八級琴同五級大提琴.
但個仔話影響到學業,所以六年級下學期先繼續,始終升中重視成績.

不過你的小朋友如果成績好,加上有八級樂器,態度唔差下,我係校長就会收law.
可惜我並不是中學校長。

Depend on:

1. If the target school has an orchestra and is enthusiastic in annual Music Festival competition;
2. The number of P6 applicants who have achieved similar grade(s) in violin;
3. Number of existing violinists in the orchestra who are in senior forms,
etc..

2009年4月參觀QC Open Day，跟一個F1仔傾談，他告訴我他是透過music talent入QC，violin 8級(成績不記得有否問)及在藍田循道衛理小學考1x，個性給我的感覺是開朗自信。其後我曾問QC副校(白頭髮那位，是否姓梁？)，他說遞申請表時不用自己表明申請循music talent入，而是學校自己揀人audition。QC今年是否仍是這樣就不清楚。
玩樂器對升中有否幫助，真的要看demand and supply，是一個配對過程。隨緣算喇，不要太勉強催谷小朋友，免致得不償失，失去對玩音樂的興趣和熱誠。

QC每年都有20個位專係比你認為有特異功能的同學報名，年年唔會收唔多個8個名額。但係我知道有同學本身就讀名小學，成績重要係頭幾名。鋼琴去到演奏級，小提琴去到8級。佢都無填落特異功能果欄，只係當課外活動，後來學校都有叫佢做audition，但佢跟本淨係成績都夠被取錄。總言之，一山還有一山高，你咁遇著呢d，就算你8級都冇用，加埋人地成績又好，想挑戰呢d學生就更難。

都係果句，8級小提琴對升中係有用，但唔可以信賴！

我會覺得睇你選邊d中學而定,band1a會比較難, band1b會易d,如此類推.
