仔女大晒，太耐冇填表申請學校
但唔係間間學校 (甚至 local school)  的申請表都會問國籍嗎？
唔一定代表國籍有影響

I'm not sure about the percentage, but from my experience, there are kids that are "small child" and got offer to RC and ESF Schools.  Also, not all the kids who got accepted are from ESF Kinder.

I went to Abacus Kindergarten before, more than 90% students are NOT Chinese.  For those who look like Chinese, it seems they are Japanese or Korean etc.  Therefore, I do believe they give priority to non-local.

Hi, my son in ESF kinder will apply fo KJS and RC this year.  May I know what other primary schools have you applied for your child?  I'm thinking of applying more good schools (not too expensive requiring expensive debenture) as there is no guarantee to ESF primary and the competition is keen.  Just to make sure that my son can secure a seat.  Also, do u mind sharing some tips for interview?

My girl is still in K1 and she did very bad in different interviews........

Except for ESF, I don't think I will try other Int'l school for her... Sorry I can't provide you more info.

The reason why I applied for ESF is because I have 2 niece currently studying in RC and so far it seems they are okay in English.  Not sure their Chinese or other subjects standard though.  

I will mainly apply for private or DSS for my daughter.

Hi Seasamestreet, I have the similar situation as you and being invited for 2nd interview 3 mths later.  What did you do to improve his performance?  Is he enjoying the school life in ESF now?

My girl is going to apply P1 coming Sep and in order to be well prepared, i am looking for some sort of "social skill" / "EQ" courses for her to attend.  May I know where you sent your kid to.  Million thanks

Kids Gallery offers "interview courses" in English which may be helpful to those who are shy (ie. working on eye contact, speaking clearly etc.)

I know a friend who put her child in the course prior to his Year 1 interview and she seemed to be satisfied with it. However, you should also make sure your child's verbal English skills are up to par, as ESF looks for spontaneous and "non-rehearsed" responses during the Year 1 interviews.

Hi, just to provide an update here.

We were on RC's wait list before and just received an offer via email this morning.

So it seems that they are starting to release the 2nd round of places now.

Yes, as last Friday is the deadline for ESF and RC enrollment for those received the offer before CNY. It is likely some placements will be available as a result.
