Anyone admitted to Kindergarten of KCIS 2012-13?

Frankly, I think I do not know whether my boy will benefit more from SWCK or KCIS.

Sometimes, "鍾意" may not necessarily lead to "best for the child". My elder son is happy for watching TV/playing rather than doing his homeworks.

Yes, we choose the school based on our preference/intuition. Sometime, a good school can be bad for a particular child. I wish you pick the right school for your child.

Josechan,

SWCK is a caring school. You can probably feel that. KCIS/KCS is my target school for my kids.

Personally, I think the marginal benefit is very less for attending two interantional schools. In fact, it can be detrimental to health (not enough sleep to attend two schools). KCS + SWCK is more logical. But, I prefer just KCIS.

I actually share your feeling. I can FEEL SWCK wins over KCIS in my mind (the environment, the caring teachers, the % of int'l students). But just i KNOW that a strong mandarin component is way too important now, so I will still go for KCIS.

If Mandarin is one of your key priorities, KCIS is definitely more preferable. I know the Chinese standard of KCIS is very very high, comparable to local school.

My elder son in KCIS Reception class has started writing, which is comparable to KCS K2. In KCIS P1, teachers can observe students' Chinese standard and will stream them in different groups in P2. There will be a big jump in Chinese standards and workloads in P2.

Good to know that. You know when i was offered by SWCK but not KCIS, i was thinking and planning how to teach her chinese at home, which can be quite tiring and demanding for a working mom!

There are many unsuccessful cases for parents teaching their kids who are international school students at the very beginning. My elder son has been studying throughout K1-K3. He still prefers English.

Good luck to your little girl. KCIS is a good school charging affordable school fees. The deputy head of KCIS told me that they receive many many applications this year.

好彩當年真係為咗有得priority interview KCIS, KCS N 收咗呀女我搬屋都要佢去讀, 如果唔係我諗我到依家都未有得IN..(my application number is later than that of crystal i remember)

即係first round除左有優先個d
都約左20個人左右去in

我仲等緊電話,不過我老公話俾左swck deposit
就去讀swck算
但就會去in下, 話晒俾左500蚊

If your daughter can get in KCS N1, she deserve an offer from KCIS. Entry into KCS N1 this year is very hard.

My little boy was lucky because I talked to two other parents who also sat for the KCIS interview. One of them was originally planning to study dual KCS/KCIS program or other local schools. Another parent, who also have an elder son in KCIS P4, prefers KCS due to better Chinese standard and lower school fees. I guess they gave up offers from KCIS

So, Crystalpui, you may still have chance

Iamworkingmana, I also hope that my son will at least have a chance for interview next year.  We went for the kcs n interview and he didn't enjoy it at all...
