Your son is lucky & smart enough to be admitted in St. Jo. & DBSPD resp.! I read in other threads that you'd go for DBS. What wonderful news to start with the year of 2012!

May you please tell me about St. Jo. in HK side? My son may choose to attend St. Jo. in Kowloon Bay as it's near my home. I know both of them are under Catholic Diocese of HK's management. And St. Jo. in HK side is more reputable. I guess the main difference between them is their secondary schools' reputation (besides their school fees). I may let my son try to apply for P.2 or 3. Is it difficult to do that? Thanks in advance.

What SCKnight said was right, St Joe (Primary @ Wanchai and College @ Central) are sponsored by La Sallian Brothers. St Jo College is a band 1A school (rank No 4 in 全港官津排名2010).

Thanks for your replies! So St. Jo. in Kowloon Bay isn't comparable to St. Jo. in Wanchai, though they are both catholic schools. But it's comparable to La Salle in net 41, right? So if my son will study at St. Jo. in Kowloon Bay and is a catholic, will there be any chance that he applies for P.2 or P.3 in the future? Or is it better that I put it in section A of the central allocation now? Many thanks in advance!

Your kid got a place in a private school. That's nothing to lose even your kid not able to get allocating to Wanchai St Joe. Especially if you are living in Wanchai district, as the same district will have a higher chance of getting in preferred school.

Thanks! I don't live in Wanchai district. So if I knock its door, most likely I'll fail. I just don't want to pay money for a worse quality school, though St. Jo. in Kowloon Bay is pretty good. It's logical that we want to pay for a better school. So all comes back to luck.
