我個女四年前IN，家長唔使參與，係reception度等，我個女話問佢D Colour/shape嘅問題(不是小組)，之後叫D小朋友去玩玩具，teacher係旁邊睇佢地玩，最後由一位miss帶番佢地比家長，可以離開。
我知道宜家都幾多人Apply，聽聞家長係 staff都唔保証入到，所以我唔知Interview 仲係咪咁，希望幫到你啦。你可以同小朋友講係去玩，等佢唔好咁緊張。

Group interview.  Before the teacher asked him to ask the questions, he could play the toys with the others.  Then my son was called to answer some questions on the pictures and then the teacher requested him to draw a picture and described it.  Then he could go back to play the toys and waited to the end of the interview.

My son has interview last year.
They grouped 8 kids into a group and brought them to classroom for interview.  Parents have no involvement.
According to my son, they have prepared different areas such as blocks, lego, drawing materials, books etc and asked the kids to choose playing at the area they like.  Teachers will then chart with individual child on what are they playing, why and how.
The interview lasted for about an hour.  My son told me it just like playing in the playgroup.

As I heard from the RC mums whom I know,  they all 'buy' the school and they share something in common--- which is the quality Chinese curriculum.

Personally I agree with them that Chinese is getting more and more important taking the global perspective. The Chinese curriculum offered by RC is very good (the best of all perhaps) with the use of local Chinese (in traditional Chinese written form) textbooks.

I prefer traditional written Chinese to simplified written Chinese at the early learning stage (primary school stage) in a way that traditional Chinese can help with learning more and better Chinese.

In my view, it'd be easier for one to switch from traditional Chinese form to the simplified one, if the kids want and need to learn both in the future.

Another thing that those RC mums 'buy' is that RC is an IB school across all the stages of learning whereas most international schools do not provide MYP education that they think would be important to an IB learner.

After all, I think each school has its pros and cons. It all depends on the kid and parents' preferences. If 'Chinese learning' and 'the working of IB thing' are important to you, RC is your cup of tea.

不要神化RC的中文。
每天一節中文課能給你多少?
除非小朋友有高超的語言天份，否則自行修鍊是必須的，也是學校預期的。祝好運。

I agree with many parents about the reasons they like RC, relatively stronger Chinese program, through train IB school and also good and new facilities etc.  I also agree with oooray that even though the Chinese program in RC is stronger than most IS in HK, we as parents are still expected to assist in the Chinese learning...afterall, an IS is unable to provide a very strong Chinese environment, so parent's  contribution is also important...   do not solely rely on school...

Honestly speaking, it's really hard for Cat 2 to get into ESF primary schools nowadays and RC & DC provide a relatively higher chance for Hong Kong Parents/kids.

你係指RC還沒有自己Year 1上而IBDP畢業的學生吧?

RC has been the school choice for my kids all along and yes, a lot of people asked me the same question '點解咁有信心?', well, for me, there are a number of reasons.

1) RC has been a through train IB school since Day 1 and therefore all their teachers were employed 'with IB teaching experience' or at least IB Trained instead of 'on the job' training to train a teacher into a PYP one

2) RC's Chinese standard is relatively better and using traditional Chinese

3) RC's has a choice to select its student instead of depending on the Cat. 1 / 2 system

4) Yes, its new and spacious

These are my main reasons for picking RC and so far, I know I have make the right decision  

But seriously, Christi, I don't think you will truely understand why the school gained so much support from the parents unless you are one of them

There are IB results for two or three years. Not brilliant but the % of taking bilingual IBDP is very high.

That's true, CSJ安樂窩.很同意你所講,外人有時很難體會家長支持的原因.所以我很重視用家意見,因為用過之後的見解會solid一啲.正如我亦喜歡另一所學校,又是同樣問題.家長用家亦是給予校方極大信心.老實講,是家長用家的信心給了我對學校的信心.

我關心的原因,是IB很難考,所以校方+師資+課程應要可以帶領學生考好個試.

請問RCyear1上的學生那年會有IB成績呢?

The first intake Year One students are now in Year Six, therefore, 7 years more to go!!
