Actually I was being requested to re-write so to make it more clear, since it is a complicated process actually.  Also thank them to  give me more spaces to show the examples.   I think this will be the only chance that my article can take up one full page.

踏入九月，準備明年升小一的家長已密鑼緊鼓進入小一面試的階段。同時，亦要為「自行分配學位」的選擇作出決定。在選校時，不少家長都會留意每間學校的升中情况作為其中的一個考慮因素。可惜，很多時發覺家長對這方面的認識有限，特別是對於直屬及聯繫學校的運作存有誤解，所以特別在這裏作一個解釋。

先提供一些統計資料以作參考，根據《小學概覽2011》，全港共有517間小學（包括34間官立，422間資助，40間私立及21間直資），當中有42間與「一條龍」中學結龍，另外35間與中學為直屬關係及108間與不同中學維持聯繫關係。這些小學的其中一樣特色，就是他們都不約而同地擁有不同程度的升中優勢。

「一條龍」辦學模式的理念，是希望讓有相同辦學理念的中、小學加強合作，及促進課程的連貫性。「一條龍」小學最大的升中優勢，就是「一條龍」資助中學必須提供足夠學位全數收取所屬小學的小六學生（如嘉諾撒聖瑪利書院與兩間小學天神嘉諾撒學校及嘉諾撒聖瑪利學校）；至於其他私立或直資「一條龍」中學，所屬小學的學生一般必須達到中學所訂出的基本要求，才能確保直接升讀（如拔萃男書院與拔萃男書院附屬小學）。

要留心的是由於此類學校以原校直升以達至中、小學教育的連貫性為目標，所以部份小學並不會為學生「呈分」，因而影響學生轉讀其他參加中學學位分配辦法中學的機會。因為在沒有「呈分」的情况下，該校學生會因為在沒有成績根據下而不能分配到任可派位組別，他們只能於所有學生完成統一派位後，才能獲得分配學位。

簡單來說，就是在選擇此類「一條龍」小學時，最好要清楚了解及認同該校的辦學理念，決心原校升讀。否則如希望參加統一派位轉讀其他中學，則可能要被安排到「第三組別」（BAND 3）學生完成派位之後才可獲分配，變成顧此失彼。

You are welcome!  I guess I will post part 2 later since it is still on the current issue.  I would feel bad to post it now......

BTW, I checked with the editors and they said past issue of KISS can be re-purchased at cost of $5 per issue.  I think it is not a bad deal as I do think the team is doing a good job so far.

  I think it is a good source so far.  Except sometimes, some data they collected may not be totally accurate (so as any other similar magazine).  I have reminded them so hopefully they can improve!

Yes, approximately by December is fine.  The central allocation this coming year will take place between January 14-15, 2012.
