True, I'm not very happy with the results.  As a CKY parent, I would have expected more... But as the first attempt of the first cohort, it's more than acceptable as compared to some of the more established schools (quoted below from another thread).  But I see the IGCSE more a testing ground for the students (I guess not many students take the IGCSE as the exit point except for those who plan to pursue their studies in the UK for AL), the focus is really on the more challenging IBDP.  Fingers crossed.

ESF 的 ISLAND SCHOOL, SOUTH ISLAND, WEST ISLAND 確是不及 GSIS, 也不是相差很遠，CKY 比這3間ESF相差更近，但以首次考試，已超越YCIS 和Kiangsu-Chekiang，也不能說「不可算好」吧！當然仍有很大進步空間，仍需加倍努力！

請問那間國際學校的成績最好？不是德瑞吧！

CKY也算夠面子，常常被人拿最好的跟她比較。

As a new CKY parent (my son is going to join Y1), I know there is a lot of truth in what you said.  While I personally think that as a first attempt, the result this year is more than acceptable, I agree that the school and its students and parents should not be complacent.  There is still room for improvement.  Let's work hard!

Very fair comment.  But, given that these results achieved were by the first cohort of a completely new school, the CKY parents have reasons to be optimistic.  Congratulations.

Agreed.. CKY still need to meet more challenges in order to grow strongly.

Find no clues to attend IGCSE exam from their school website..  Average score for IB = 33.8

All ESF schools (except the 2 PIS) still take IGCSE and IBD.  The results this year are not published yet.

KGV's IBD result average score is 34.8 as posted from the website.

"IB Diploma Results

KGV is pleased to publish the IB Diploma results for this academic year which students received on Wednesday 6 July.  These results demonstrate an outstanding achievement and in all the key indicators there is an improvement in the results.  The average points score now represents 34.8.

Three students  (Angela Wu, Dorothy Yang, Alex Su) received the maximum 45/45 (less than 1% of students around the world obtain this score) and three students (Hsu Wei Chang, Bella Draeger, Vanessa Kwok) obtained 44/45."

I think CKY's results are OK, it is only the first batch.  IBD will be much more challenging...

Thanks for all the valuable advice.  Just curious, how do GSIS, ESF, CKY compare with St Paul Convent? There were 207 students in Form 4 attending 2010 IGCSE.  More than 50 students with 6A* above.  They got 777 A* in total., average 3.75 A* per student.  I can only retrieve the distribution of A* from their website. Is it good?

Found SPC year 2010-2011 School Plan in their website:
Academic Goals -
At the IGCSE level, we anticipate 80% passes in all the four core subjects, English, Chinese, Mathematics and Religious Studies. In addition, we will work towards at least 70% passes in Grade E/Level 2 in all other subjects.

我估好過好多考這個試的学校。

學校為學生准備igcse是好事，igcse可做為16+的exit exam,不是人人都想或都可以讀IB。讓學生有一紙證書傍身。新派\直資不走這路很難表現自己。

在CKY的網頁裏，About CKY => Unique features of the curriculum => IGCSE as an exit point，我想知道是否所有同學均可以升讀Year11或是有多少個同學自願或被勸籲離開CKY？

是的，igcse的面廣，模式更像ibdp.對以后的tok/ ee等需大量書寫的課程有幫助。

A concrete comment, IGCSE has a wide range of choices and schools can pick more subjects depends on internal resources and subjects popularity.  CKY has add'l  'Performing Art' and 'Business Studies' for the coming year IGCSE classes.
