You may find school's annual reports from their websites.  Here's the link to GHS's annual reports for the past few years:

I have verified such information was posted in the latest annual report, on page 4:

http://www.ghs.edu.hk/plans_reports/Annual_School_report_09-10.pdf

However, similar information are not available in previous years so cannot be compared internally.

德望S7去年有39%入本地大學，有25%要去讀HIGH DIP，成績較前年大幅退步，前年有63%入本地大學，有15%讀HIGH DIP ...

you can check the report of 2008-9, p. 21, the result was totally another story, don't know what hapened the result dropped significantly last year.

You are welcome!  I review a lot of school reports so the GHS's one is consider quite solid.

Of course, I must remind parents that public exam is just one of many factors to consider!   (with my moderator's hat)

I am not surprised with these big ups and downs after reading so many of these for so many schools.  It can just happen to any schools at any year.

Often time these situations are affected by the students that particular year, especially the few ranked top.  Their performance has huge effects on the other students.  Whether this is related to the school.....  may be sometimes, but not always.

Just to share my observations.  Honestly I didn't follow GHS in such details to tell exactly what happened.  Please accept my apology if I say anything wrong

Just looking at that page.  Which area you are referring to?  Dropping from 75% to 65% of S6 study?

no, the total % of going to university and higher diploma have a great difference, the HKCEE passing % and HKALE credit % are not even shown on the updated report.

Oh I see.

Well, in fact this is also quite normal since these annual reports don't have a fixed format so some schools would choose to show certain information selectively.

Just to share one experience.  I once know there is a school which had a bad year of public examination and they have done something very interesting: they decided to skip the current year's result and simply repeat the results they shown last year......

Of course I am not saying this is the case of GHS, since being able to achieve such a high percentage of 14-points or above is already very good.  But just to share some experience while going through these school reports.

At the end, these information (e.g. academic results) are just for reference only.  We only a few children and they can be anywhere from the best to the worst.

如果數字準確，那德望中學成績真的很令人失望了，因為很多band 1的中學，入大學率超過80%才合理！

actually I'm more curious than worried as for now since there's still a long long long path for my girl to reach the senior forms

德望中學爆教師離職潮2009年06月12日



【本報訊】英語教學的老牌名校德望中學爆出校政風雲。該校自現任校長於 06年上任後，人事問題叢生，過去三年多位資深英文老師先後離職，當中包括一名曾獲行政長官卓越教學獎的老師，校內瀰漫不滿情緒，教育局已派員跟進。

指校長用人唯親
據了解，德望中學校監阮嫣玲修女近日接獲投訴信，指校長陳馨上任後用人唯親，偏私重用曾是學生的一位英文老師，委任她執行英文科主任的職務，多名資深英文老師被迫走，過去三年每年都有一至兩名資深英文老師離職，流失率偏高，其中一名曾獲行政長官卓越教學獎的老師也在 07年辭職。現時大部份任教英文科老師資歷少於三年。
校長陳馨以透過書面回覆反駁指控，認為教師離職屬自然更替，又指一名獲卓越教學獎的老師在 07年請辭，但該獎屬團體性質，不應視為個別教師的個人成就；而學生英文科公開考試歷年成績均高於全港平均水平，未受個別教師離任影響。
教育局發言人表示，質素保證視學組已派員到德望中學作評鑑，了解學校整體表現，區域教育服務處也會跟進。
德望中學的現任校長陳馨有 20多年從事教學經驗， 79年於德望畢業， 85年返回母校任教， 95年擔任助理校長， 05年署理校長一職， 06年正式升任校長。德望中學屬 Band1名校，知名校友包括藝人鄭裕玲、楊采妮及立法會議員梁劉柔芬。

之前有一批老師請辭，但呢兩年應該穩定返。

【明報專訊】傳統英中名校德望學校校長陳馨，上月底罕有地以私人理由，在學年中途突然離職。校監阮嫣玲修女周一透過家長信證實事件。據悉校長請辭與教職員在校政上不和有關，校監已任命周志洪接任為署理校長。
阮嫣玲修女透過校網及家教會網站發家長信，通知校長辭職消息﹕「學校管理層知道今次人事突然變動會引發憂慮，校方將與持份者開會回應關注。」校董會已召開教職員會議，校方本周回應師生對今次事件的疑問。據了解，阮嫣玲修女去年接獲投訴信，批評校長陳馨偏用經驗較淺英文教師，導致不少資深教師於過去兩三年紛紛離職。1979年畢業於德望學校的陳馨，有20多年教學經驗，85年至今一直在母校工作，06年升任校長。
