我個仔間學校差2分相差了廿幾名，排名要用小數點後兩位數分勝負......

Yes.  I really dont understand this.  Why don't the school make the paper more difficult?  How can we tell the kid to do harder if they already have 95 marks?

Both are very good schools.

For YW: Through train, less academic pressure, students can have more time to develop interests and talents. Most kids are all-rounded.

For Hennessy Govt school: Good academic results, good chance to admit to QC. Parents have to spend more time on training kids' academic attainment.

If I were given a choice, I would prefer YW.
Even if Principal Lam may retire in a few years' time, I believe YW's culture is good.

我自己冇比較過，不過聽個家長話試卷係一年比一年深，家吓小一的英文程度和小四差不多（她兩個仔分別讀緊小一及小四），不過依然N咁多人攞9x分....

如果軒官 VS 英華, 我會選擇英華, 因官校升中始終冇保障

但如果住港島, 而又在第一階段抽中聖約瑟或華仁小學, 我就一定不會選擇英華, 過海上學辛苦也

我會揀英華, 因一條龍上中學, 不過如果住香港區,我會揀軒小, 因唔洗番全日, 小朋友會多d時間用.

以下係自己感受及意見, 唔係專登attack任何家長:

點解有人批評時下的家長要小朋友補習, 操卷, 不停做練習, 大多香港小朋友都少閱讀, 話無時間, 好多嘢要學, 好多功課要做. 當然補習都有兩種, 有d能力追唔上 (其實係唔係程度太深跟唔上), 或者學校老師根本無用心教書, 點解會教得淺,出得深, 這樣便造就好多學生根本上堂當溫書, 因係出面已經學完. 另一種補習的學生, 只係學d學校未教既嘢, 早人一步, 小六學至中五數真係大有人在.  我覺得如果小朋友已有90多分, 縱使係排至中下, 我會先了解錯的原因, 如果只係careless, 家長有無必要再花大量時間去做習作去改善? 可能有效高多一兩分, 可能有反效果, 但同樣用呢d時間去: 睇課外書, 追尋課本外的知識; 專注自己的專長, 如sports or music, 更可以利用呢d時間學外語.  當大家再去考中學, 大學, 除非你所有100分, 否則, 97分的同學未別優勝過92分的同學, 因為考官會再睇小朋友其他方面的發展, interview的表現, 有好多成績好,但只係死讀書, 面試時一碌木, 做卷就天下無敵, 要presentation時就語無倫次, 詞不達意.

教得深係唔係=好學校? 小朋友讀程度深的學校係唔係又等於高人一等 ?

My son is studying in YW.

Be prepared the syllabus is quite demanding.  

For English, p2 required to write 10 pages examination and complete 70 words composition in 35 mins.

In p3, 100 words composition in 35 mins.

Teachers will give you a call to jockey your boys.

Therefore, 90+ marks is not usal after P.1.  The average of student make 70-80...

I have tempted my son to switch to international school of no homework but he declined the offer.  He is typical busy buzzy YW boy.

I live in HK Island at Net 12, is it impossible to get a seat from St Joseph or Wah Yan if you only got 15..(also not a must for those with 20 marks).  That's why I choose YW : )
