Submitted form at ~9:30 am on 11/9 (1st day)
Scheduled interview time: 8:30 am on 8/10 (Fri)

But DBS notified us that the interview will be conducted in putonghua though I submitted the application for the interview in Cantonese.

You should call the school immediately. You will have a stronger ground if you keep a copy of the completed application form.

as such, it seems that the interview time will be more or less the same as that of submission

Same here. I just received the letter and it said that the interview will be conducted in Putonghua though we had ticked "cantonese" in our form.I need to call the school tmw to clarify this.
