Just heard (don't know how true it is) that only around 55% of Wah Yan Primary 6 can go to HK Wah Yan Secondary this year. I don't know the exact reasons behind, but the percentage heard has been dropping in past few years.
On the contrary, the percentage of SJPS boys getting to SJC is expected to be higher when the the 5-classes year (now getting to P.4) graduates 2 years later. So, it's hard to tell life in which school (Wan Yan primary or SJPS) is easier in the coming years.
On ther other hand, distinctive students of either Wah Yan Primary or St. Joe's Primary may not necessary choose back their related secondary school, but can choose to go to QC (which is also in Wanchai region).
And at the end, whether the kid can get into any Band 1 secondary school and scores high in open examinations, depends very much on his own individual academic ability with his/her family support (no matter which school they are in and where they came from).
