Yes, you can download it from web.  Last year, the print of the form was in blue, I was one of those who submitted black and white downloaded copy, but I think there's no discrimination.

Just want to share the questions at SPCC interview requires the candidates to think logically and communicate fluently.  No academic questions like English testing or maths.  No writing required (some schools tested candidates by writing their names and by drawing).  The headmistress wouldn't read the porfolio extensively unless it is very impressive, like your kid won at an 'important' contest (my guess only).

Good luck to your kid if you wish to apply this year.

Not really any question for parents but jsut share with you theme and direction of the school.  Also inform you that students have to have their own notebook at school from P.4 and ask if you will support.

Frankly, all the decisions have been made after the first round.  Not much parents can do in the second.  So I think the first round is very important.

For the first round, either the principal or the other 2 vice-principals will interview.  I don't think it makes any difference as my son was interviewed by vice-principal.

Will have group games with other kids and of course teachers around will observe how the kids are performing.  Regarding the individual interview after the group games, it has millions of varieties as I heard from other parents..  In general, they just count the kids' personality but not academic knowledge.  Make sure your kids have good manner..

Regarding the portfolio, not really that matter in my point of view.

One thing, small kids really have disadvantage here...

Honestly, all school prefer big kids.  Reason is simple as big kids really have advantage in general in their present age of "6".  For an adult at his/her 20, 6 months or 9 months difference in age should not have any difference in mentality and experience.  For a kid at his/her 6, it should have a huge difference in mentality and experience.

So, please don't blame schools for picking big kids.  Big kids in general really perform better in interview.  Of course there are exceptional cases for those small kids who are extremely smart.

Just my personal opinion...

My daughter is now P.3 at SPCC.  She is one of the not related students.  I do think the first round interview decided who will be chosen.  Cause my husband did not go to the second interview and I only spent no more than 5 mins in the second interview with the principal.

good luck to all the kids who want to join this school.

My daughter told me that there were 5 or 6 tables set up. Each of them did different things eg. memories games, maths games, puzzles,  While you were waiting to the next table.  You must be patient and not running around.  The teacher marked according to your ability and obedience. It seems that they don't like too active kids, (Cause they may  disturb the class to learn in future.)

In the first interview, the principal (Ms.Lee) will ask each candidate a story.  Your kids must listen carefully and answer the questions without shy.

Once again, Good Luck!

eunice,
Saw in another thread that your son is in St Paul's Boys.
How would you compare Co-ed & Paul Boys?

Compared between SPCC  and St Paul boys'. SPCC is  much much academic harder.  Your kid must be very prepared to study from 1st Sept till 30th June.  Whereas my son only studies two weeks in advance before the exam at St Paul Boys

Thank you for your reply, Eunice.
I didn't realise there is such a gap academically between the two schools.
But is SPCC harder because of a more difficult curriculum or because of a higher level of competition amongst students?
