聽講有d SC的學生都準備轉過去, GH中小學都唔算頂級的學校, 如果唔可以大比數直升, 咁就慘了.....

請問妳心目中"頂級"小學是指哪一間呢?
如果妳意思係全港計,咁我同意妳睇發lor...

我都唔會將GH同DGJS, SPCC...果d頂級學校比, 不過如果我小朋友入到GH小學又跟得上, 我都已經好滿足了.

Hi,

GH唔算頂級? 都係嘅, 但唔係差啫。其實, 大家講緊嘅頂級學校來來去去都係o個幾間啫: SPCC, SP, DGS, DBS, SH, etc, 咁如果小朋友入唔到其中一間, 咁點算呀? 另外, St Mary, La Salle, Maryknoll, HY, etc 都要大抽獎, 小朋友嘅質素咪仲難保證。我阿女o係ECA嘅朋友仔現讀CCKG, 今年升K3, 同佢媽咪傾計, 佢話CCKG d女仔都係得一半入到DGS咋。其他o個d, 一係就抽到好學校, 抽唔到嘅但考到GH嘅都會選擇GH, 其餘嘅就讀 International school 囉。

所以有間唔錯嘅學校做back up, 一定唔會輸。

我阿女都係由SC轉去GH讀K2嘅, 開學後, 再同大家分享啦!

其實, 我都唔係好明, 點解咁多人對GH有負面嘅睇法, 有無人可以講俾我聽o下? 同d朋友講話阿女由SC轉去GH, 一開口就話唔好, 話差o左好多, 問佢差係邊, 由講唔出, 淨係識講總之差o左好多啦.......名校學生有犯罪行為, 甚至上晒報紙, 由唔見d人唔去考, 唔去報喎, 會唔會麻木o左少少呢?

我好認同你. 我細囡都係kv&gh kg offers, 最後去gh kg. kv 女仔畢業又係果幾間名女校, 抽唔中又考唔到dgjs, 都係去gh. 讀緊gh既學生家長都無話唔好.

gh呢d學校都已經係出名既好學校, 每個人心目中既標準都唔同, 又唔需要去比較邊間先係頂級, 而事實上如果我既小朋友入到gh既中小學而又跟得上唔駛我煩我就已經好開心喇! 因為gh既課程一d都唔淺, 唔見得比所謂既頂級學府差, 再者, 我比較重視校風多過成績, 只要校風純樸, 小朋友品德ok就已經好好了....

hi, spn冇收囡囡呀, 連interview既機會都冇呀, 不過好彩考到spk同spcn咋....

gh都係我心儀之一既學校, 可能舊年唔記得拎form攪到冇機會interview, 所以成日覺得"吃不到的葡萄是酸的"??哈哈...不過anyway, 係kowloon side黎講gh都算係有名氣既學校, 女校黎講緊次於dgjs....個人意見^^

I believe the reason why GH is not being considered as 頂級 by many parents, is probably due to it has somehow been categorized as a "backup" school in recent years.  In a sense, the problem is created by the EDB's primary school allocation policy.

Look at it this way, I guess majority of parents would agree DGJS to be their top choice on the Kowloon peninsula (although it is not mine to set the record straight), and probably extended to the entire New Territories, and even for portion of parents from HK island where there are more choices available there.

So, this created an interesting phenomenon: Parents who considered applying for DGJS, would paired up with GHS for P1 application for private schools.  To look at it in more detail, this is what happening for private girls' schools in HK, there are only 6 of them, and the other 4 all have own kindergartens!  The only two that don't have own kindergartens are DGJS and GHS (as of this past academic year).  So, it created an undesirable situation for GHS: (1) Most parents (not all) preferred DGJS over GHS; (2) If parents got lucky thru P1 allocation into other popular gov't aided schools, some parents would give up GHS as they treated it as backup; (3) some parents may eventually prefer other private or DSS co-ed schools.....etc...

On top of that, personally I disagree (and I believe also to some number of parents) with the M.I.C.'s decision to (1) give up other schools they previously managed to other organizations while choose to re-open kindergarten for GHS and (2) change its secondary section to DSS which I find unacceptable with Catholicism on running schools (totally personal belief).

And there are even more issues like students dropout and recent issues with school principal and teachers resigning may further exaggerated the problem.

Above just a sharing of my personal observation.  Hope it helps to explain to some puzzled parents.

好煩厭......

與其花心力去逐間比較, 不如想下如何教好自己的子女......並不是每個小朋友都是頂級材料吧, 做家長的只要讓小朋友的優點/potential發揮出來就可以了. 是否一定要入最top 的學校( e.g. DGS)才是對小朋友最好呢? SH 都有人讀唔上DROP OUT, 都有人轉去SPC(全級第一0個個), 都有人轉去 MARYMOUNT, 但這是否說 SH 不好呢? 當然不是啦.

My girl will also study GH in the coming semester. Before I made the decision for her, I have asked a colleague, who studied HY (primary, secondary and matric), to compare between HY and GH. I expect her to say HY is better as most HY graduates loves their school so much! But she said that GH is at similar level to HY.
