Just received result Exam was taken on May 6.

My daughter also took on May 6, received the result today.  Got distinction!!!

我囡囡都收到成績, 5月6日考的 . 2級--
124分, 我都很開心啦, 4歲半又第一次考,明天同囡囡食大餐先.......
而加等緊apa 有冇2 nd in, 但我都知機會很渺茫....

Hi Kareese

我囝囝今次是考8級cello，我都好開心有此成績。他的3首歌是27, 29 和29，scale就扣了一分，總分是144。
他的8級鋼琴是2008年考的，所以今年考ATCL都不算快了，他考8級琴時aural都取了滿分，同樣是distinction，不過分數就無今次咁高。
他每天都要練起碼2-3小時樂器，若功課多的話，就祇能練兩樣，如果要三樣一齊練的話就要等放假才可以了，始終功課緊要。
他並不是很叻，不過很喜歡音樂，所以都肯主動去練習。很開心在這裡和大家交流心得。

你個仔真係勁！aural都攞満分，我相信他一定很有天份，加埋後天努力，將來在音樂方面一定很有成就！

可唔可以分享你地怎樣發現你個仔對音樂有天份的呢？謝謝！

My son is studying Grade 6 in an international school.  He has lots of homework and tests this year.  Therefore he needs to give up his TV time and also sports in order to practice instruments. However when compared to local school, I think he is better than those students.

Everyday after school, he usually has after-school activities.  By the time when he goes home, he needs to finish his homework and prepare for any quiz or tests first.  Then he practices one or two instruments every night.  When he was in Grade 5, he could practice three of them everyday.  But now with the increase in the volume of homework, and also the difficulty of his instruments, it is impossible.  If he doesn't have "BIG" test the next day, he can practice two to three hours every night.

My son has learned cello for 4 years to complete the grade 8 exam.  He took the exam in Grade 3, 6, 7 & 8 within 4 years.  His hands are not big enough, therefore he also has difficulty.  But he is OK when practice more.  After the grade 8 exam, his teacher  now requires him to practice at least one hour a day, and 4 days in a week because she knows that he needs to spend more time in piano.

Has your daughter taken the Grade 5 exam yet?  Hope she loves cello and keeps it up.
