For my boys, they love only english books. Starting from P1, mainly the Magic school bus, Judy Moody, Magic tree house, Geronimo Stilton chapter book series. And now P4, moving to Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, 39 clues and some of the Classics. They also enjoy most of the DK Eyewitness, USBORNE and horrible science series.
They need only write one to two lines on the books! And you should know whether they read it seriously or not just by observing! Before the GRAND opening of school library, they got limited books from teachers and reading corner. But now they can choose their own books freely.
