There is always give & take......
My personal experience with half day school was that there were almost 40 studends in one class vs 26 students in full day class. The level of Cantonese was better than Mandarin. The teacher/student ratio is okay but the classrooms are very small for an average of 36 students in one class.
Language is somthing you have to use daily & enviroment is much more important than what's being teach in class.
My older is in P2 where Chinese are being teach in Mandain but most of her classmates' families were not able to support their Mandarin level, thus I found that she's lossing her Mandain language skills...I mean the daily life usage...
Whether to put your child in half day "local stream"
and half day KCIS is a good idea to give both yourself and your child a chance to experence the differences....what do you want you child to study in Primary school, the local, international school or....
To be hornest without a nap, for 4 - 6 years, it all depends on the child, my younger when he's tired, he will go to bed while my older will keep on playing...and skip nap and sleep late...
