For ESF WKS, they will send out acceptance letter by this Fri, according to its receptionist just now. My daughter is in Cat One and applied for 2010 K1, wondering is there any children here in same circumstances?

1. Quite a number of parents not accepting ESF kinder offer after the school tour;
There will be 2nd, 3rd,....rounds.
2. SW will be moving to Hillside, more places.
yes...why not accepting the offer..any particular reasons?

I could not exactly know what other parents thought. From my experiences attending school tours (2 times), not all parents felt comfortable with ESF kinder philosophy;
1. Open Class-room;
2. Learn thro' play;
3. No 100% guarantee for ESF P1 place;
4. Less academic (of course, due to point 2)
5. No intensive Putonghua programme...

They were the questions that many parents did concern and some of them will decide to give up when they have a better option fulfilling their needs.
My son applied TY ESF. Just received the letter fr play visit. It's said that "Contracts will be issued on the next day of the play visit to successful applicants".
My daughter also studied TY ESF before. I remember that they've sent the offer letter to her before, not like now (Need pass the play visit). May be they change the admission procedure.
Did any parents have experience about the play visit? Have any children didn't got a seat after play visit?

Sounds interesting. No such arrangement last year. (Sent u a letter of school visit and asked you to sign the contract within 1/2 weeks).

Are they going to pre-screen the K1 applicants thro' the play visit???
The letter said
Your child will be invited to take part in informal play activities with a small group of children of the same age. It will be conducted by experienced teaching staff and the whole process should take no longer than 30 minutes......
Following the play visit we may be in a position to offer your child a place in K1 for August 2010. Contracts will be issued on the next day of the play visit to SUCCESSFUL applicants.
Should we have any concerns about your child's needs and ability to access our curriculum, we may ask you to return for a further visit and meeting with the Principal.
i m applying the one in wks, my letter stated that:
"visits are being conduted throughout jan and we will inform you of the outcome of the visit by letter or email before the 2nd week in feb. contracts will be issued at this point to successful applicants...."
that means i need to wait almost 1 mth after the play day before i get the result!!
In fact, other ESFs do have more applicants than WKS (WKS has 2XX, Abacus has 4XX from the previous posts) Why WKS needs to screen the applicants throughout Jan but TY only need one day and release the results in the next day?
