I wonder why many students from other primary can go to the secondary of LS, DBS. Does it mean that the secondary of LS and DBS have many S1 class or many students in one class.

I have very hard feeling during this P1 application, it should well prepare in K2.

And I have friend his son accepted by LS last year, and really hard for them in first year, and teacher suggested them to leave because examination not reach 90%, and he graduated from SC kindergarden!

No pain no gain. But ask to leave from LS or DBS. This will be a great pain for both parents and kid. So, don't close your eyes to look for best school for your kid in P1. It may not be good.

I think the 'manner' part should also include the virtue of being humble, which I will rank Coed much higher than DBS, not sure about LS

拔萃男書院中一學位有大約二百四十個，拔萃小學每級大約有六十幾人，所以以前一定會收好多其他小學學生，到左二零零四年開始，開左拔萃男書院附屬小學，每級有大約一百五十人，之後拔萃男書院就開始同拔萃小學脫龍，響過渡期間（今年係最後一年），拔萃男書院會收大部份拔萃男書院附屬小學同拔萃小學畢業生，所以中一學位只得好少位比其他小學六年級生爭。

其實都唔係太多家長著重個排名。LS同DS大家同樣都係一間好學校，有好既校舍同好既學習環境，最重要係可以教好個小朋友嘛！
兩間學校既水準都係好接近，兩間都係好多家長既dream school呀~

First of all, I would like to say THREE are all very good schools with excellent achievements.

In the past, DBS and LS were considered equally good. However, as DBS has autonomy to select students, it will have better chance to maintain its standard.

For LS, some may say that as it remains the same, it would achieve equally good as before just because its LaSalle.

However, we should bear in mind that in the old days when all schools are "govt-subsidized", each school got equal probability of admitting "so-called" more competent pupils. As of now, those "more competent" students are absorbed by good schools like DBS & Ying Wa or even TSL & SFA, most of those participate in the lucky draw may be those not having offers in hand. (Of course, there're a few cases that parents give up "good offers' with a dream to LS but I believe these should be very rare cases!)

I'm not here to criticise any schools or to comment on the quality of any students (all in all they are just 6 yr old kids). This is just an analysis out of facts and logics.

For YW, it's a very enthusaistic school. I know lots of quality parents and kids taking its offer. I believe YW will high fly as DBS and esp. as LS in the years to come.

在現有制度下，只有LS仍能維持津貼， 這份堅持或風骨實在令人佩服！ 畢竟DBS/YW 都是要家長掏腰包嘛！

同意沒有最好的學校，家長應該選擇最適合你跟你孩子的學校， 所謂比較實在沒什麽意思。

First of all. I am a La Salle parent.

Your comment is based on the assumption that the kids selected by the DSS schools are generally smarter and will always stay smarter in the years to come. But these assumptions are unfounded. Just because the kid fails in a 15 minute interview doesn't mean he cannot improve. To our kids, it is just the beginning of a 42km marathon and we just passed the 1 km mark.

What really puzzles me is a common opinion here in BK that students in DSS schools is a class above the Govt/Subsidized ones. No matter it is LS or YW or DBS or Co-ed, it is a good school only if your kid can receive good teaching yet enjoys his/her school life.

你說"風骨"這字, 讓我想起數星期前在報章看到某著名男校中學部接受一位爺爺數以千萬計的捐款. 而這位爺爺的孫兒正在小學部就讀. 照片上校長接收爺爺的捐款令我想到這盤生意真難做.

我想你误会了我的意思， 我所说的風骨是指天主教学校不为政府政策所动而已， 当然有此能耐， 强大的old boy 支持绝不可少。

但你把这二字套用到下面捐款可不敢认同， 爷爷捐款给孫兒学校有问题吗？ 如果我有千万家财要捐， 捐给学校好让孫兒有份享受可是理所当然！

家长或old boy 捐款绝非下述著名男校中學部独有！
