囡囡的戰績

已取錄小學：聖士提反女子中學附屬小學、聖嘉勒小學、德雅小學、聖母小學、救恩學校、九龍禮賢學校、啟思小學、九龍真光中學(小學部)

備取錄小學：德望學校（小學部）、聖士提反書院附屬小學、香港真光中學（小學部）

不取錄小學：優才(楊殷有娣)書院、港大同學會小學、保良局陳守仁小學、聖保羅男女中學附屬小學

估計不取錄小學（應考時患流感）：拔萃女小學、保良局蔡繼有學校

我想囡囡已很努力，但又不是天才寶寶，我倆也不是Doctor, barrister, investment bankers, 所以入不到部份「超級名校」也只會用平常心面對。

然上主也真的很照顧我們一家，給了我們聖士提反女子中學附屬小學這最好的offer（因媽媽並非Old Girl）

我放榜前的星期五打電話去問，校務處姐姐重話今年Old Girls’ 子女報讀極多，像我們這些不是Old Girls的是百幾二百人只能抽剩下的不足10個位，所以叫我要有心理準備….。

當然也可以當成是「夠運」，但以從不甚有抽獎運的人而言，我會選擇相信是上主的安排。

My daughter same as your case. We only applied four school before:-
1) DBJS - Failed
2) SFA - Failed
3) Good Hope - Waiting list
4) True Light (HK) - Accepted

However, my daughter got the offer from lucky draw. Thanks God!

So which school your daughter got through the offer? Would our daughters be lucky enough to become schoolmates?

No la, My girl is just a K.3 student now, and she would be going to St. Stephen's Girl Primary School in September 2010.

St. Mary is many people's "dream" school, it would be an honour to become your daughter's alma mater --> but my girl would not be having that chance la...

Well, maybe they would meet someday in open competitions, or even in college.

我女兒Carrie都係Upper 11呀！我哋嘅女兒係同學嚟！早排我哋兩公婆有做義工講Talk，你個女攞咗個咩嘢公仔返屋企呀？唔知邊個係你個女呢？嗰日好熱鬧，佢哋反應好激烈，其他老師都喺課室門外睇添。

你地好,我囡囡2010會入讀SC英普班,見到你地小朋友考得咁好,我都好放心俾囡囡在SC讀....我另外想請教SC英普班的媽咪,如果本人不懂普通話,會唔會好難教小朋友做功課及溫習呢...?

I have applied but failed three-years straight to do the story-telling thing in the parent-volunteer thing. In the end I was only given the group-sessions time to man one of the activity station, which by the way was a bit boring....

And did you mean hand-puppet? Cause I did not noticed my girl bring back any doll from school... The one she brought back was monkey hand-puppet, and she seemed to like it a lot.

可以問一下各位媽咪，如在St. Cat讀書，英文程度是不是很不錯？還需要去那些英文班嗎？因爲小朋友時間有限，所以再想是不是應該將時間放在學其他方面？另外，如果要考好私校，還需要參加其它補習班嗎？

St. Catherine do have a very complete system of English learning and phonics ---> provided that the parents would actually follow it up at home. And they have a lot of NET teachers, so the students at least would not be scared while talking to native English speakers.

You see, the school did provided (charges included already in the misc. fees payment) flash cards, phonic CDs, books (oxford tree readers with CDs) for follow up at home. And there are instructions and reminders at the weekly plans, too. But problem is, if you don't have time / won't know how to follow it up, it will be a total waste, as I found out among some of my fellow SC parents.

As for the English classes, though I was graduated from St. Paul's College, a traditional EMI school, I don't know anything about phonics. So I did put my girl in a phonic class organized by Jolly Faith. According to my girl it is a lot of fun doing that, and she learned to enjoy reading and pronounce English pretty well even since.
