My daughter is accepted by Good Hope and True Light (HK side).  Both schools have good Secondary school for back up.  How can I choose?  Any comments for these two schools? thanks

Dear Chuppy,
My daughter did not win for any competition, she only got a few attendance cert.

As I remember 我囡囡 was also very shy at age 2-3, we were so worry at that time, therefore we gave her more extra-curricular activities from K1 in order to let her have more exposure. My girl became more mature with more exposures.

Therefore, I think certs are not critical but maturity, confidence & polite are the key points for some of the traditional schools. Otherwise the kids can't communicate well with the principal/vice-principal during interview.

Wish yr daughter can get into a good school which is suitable for her next year. Add oil.

Hi SC parents,

I am waiting for the SC K1 result now (before Dec10) and my girl also got the offer of GH K1. She is really active and talkative, a bit afraid GH's culture would not suitable for her. Such character is better studying in SC (if luckily accepted)?

Dear Eggmama,

Even I'm the parents of GH (My eldest) and SC (My youngest), I didn't know so much about GH kinders' as the first coming year.

A lot of consideration behind like how many classes in GH kinder, how many NET teacher (It's very very important for their phonics).

For foundation of kinder, personally I prefer SC.  For safety, GH is very good.

They both no pushing, don't scare your kids.

Fully agree with you. Certs are meaningless as they are just piece of papers. However, in today society, as the competitions are keen, you still need a paper or two under your belt :( I am sure you have seen some crazy portfolio some parents produced for their kids.

Nevertheless, it is more important to encourage and train your child to be self-aware. This goes to everyone, including me. If you are aware of what you are doing, then you will have the confidence level to perform well. Just sharing...

I wonder GH primary would train girls to be 'lady'? Strong base at kinder stage is very important, I agree to a large extent!

Will you let your younger one to GH? If yes, you agree that GH is a good school la? Does your elder one adapt into GH culture very quick? What I mean is 45 kids in one class, teachers are more serious, homework workload etc.

My girl only holds 1 certificate & 2 awards. Her result as today:

Offer : TSL, 德雅, 啟基, GH
Fell in waiting list : 禮賢
took 2nd in but waiting result release: CKY, DGS
2nd in : KTS

So, don't worry. I think the Primary School not very care the certificate. Just like the teacher of CKY said, they don't take account into the grading of Piano.

點解我見親DGS/DBS的result都係等2nd interveiw? 係咪因為太出名, 所以無人可以一take過就pass? 定佢地好少收ST.cat的畢業生? 但我去左KV那邊看, 情況都差不多....點解呢?
