Your girl is also smart.  She got 2nd in DGJS.  My girl has no chance to see DGJS principal again.  So disappointed!

I don't have much confident to get a offer for DGJS, there are so many smart girl around, only 1/5 chance. I heard that DGJS have the preference to pick the girl from SPK, it make the game more competitive.

I am waiting for CKY, TSL, KTS, DGJS reult.

Hi tvnotallow, I see.  I haven't applied so many schools, only DGJS, GHS, SFA and APS.  My girl is studying in KV while her English standard is quite high even better than my English.  She is on GH waiting list and no 2nd interview in DG.   We have 15 marks only in first round.  However, I still believe she will do good in future studies.  She is a responsible student.

what school did you choose for the 1st round?

I choose ST mary for my 1st round, hope I can get in with my 20 marks...........

it is very important for me as I have a younger daughter, now she is at SC K1.

very tired if I need to play same game after 2 years.

I applied MCS and think I will fail in 1st round.  I have a younger daughter, too.  She is attending K1 interviews this month.  I also feel very tired.  For past 5 years, my elder daughter did very well in academic, but she still doesn't belong to first-rank batch.

Surely, DGJS is the 1st choice. But I know the competition is very very keen. If it is failed, how to select ?
I also get the similar case to you.

Dear share123,

As my knowledge, GH is a private primary.  Your daughter still have a chance for "lucky draw".
Every year, GH has a lot of waiting list as some parents are not really want to put their daughters get into the school.
If you really want your daughter enter GH, you may sent a full portfolio and letter to school before the result in June.
My daughter got the acceptance like this way in 2009.

I got the offer from GH now.
But I have so worry why so many parents release their offer and select the other school.
In my understanding, the acedemic result is good in Goodhope Secondary School. The primary student can surely enter the secondary school. Why we still hestitate to select her our daughter ?Do you have any idea ?
Do you daughter is studying in Goodhope npw ? Let share your real experience.

yes, DGJS is my 1st choice,  it is a good question,  I am not really think deeply about it right now.  I hope i get the allocation from luucky draw.  

my preference, i might choose CKY, KTS, GH.

I will try St Paul Convent as well, after the lucky draw they might have limit space release.  I heard there were around 12 girls get in DGJS from SPK last year.

GHS is a private school and parents have to pay school fee. If they got offers from govt sub. primary sch and if these sch also have good sec sch as back up and they are of similar quality of ghs ... of cos parents will choose those govt sub school ... save a lot of $$$ ma ..

家長+女兒的表現= 取錄結果

其實,人人有好多唔同原因去選學校.
有家長會選官津,因為免費.留番D錢課外活動.
有家長會選其他學校,因為唔使咁早起身,因為有2個小朋友,同時比$3,xxx,太貴.

最重要架係,你自己感覺.
若你要d資料,我可以提供小小比你:
我囡囡今年讀P1,除左40多人一班,我覺得唔鐘意之下,so far無其他.
1.功課唔算多,學校有50分鐘activity時間,有時做完功課番黎.暫時無網上功課.
2.默書唔算多,2個月先得3次中默,3次英默(計分).而且英默唔算深,小朋友有考cambridge starter的,串慣字,唔會覺得係咩(不過我囡囡無考,都係咁串).
3.我覺得40多人一班唔鐘意,囡囡唔覺得有咩問題.無疑,小朋友要自己獨立架啦!我亦要求囡囡自己自動自覺.
4.老師及圖書館員都有愛心,囡囡皮膚敏感,老師及圖書館員會問下佢有無事.當然無好似幼稚園咁老師會打電話黎問候,呢點我亦唔會expect.

以上係個人感覺.

多謝分享. 請問是否如其他家長所講, 小朋友要很早上校車, 和除學費以外, 還有什麼雜費 如必須參加的課外活動等.

Great to hear very positive comment on GHS, cause up to now, GHS is still the #1 choice on my list of school (which have accepted my daughter).

I also hear some negative comments, some of the parents said that they don't really like GHS because the secondary section is not as good as the primary section. Some of them even said that the secondary section standard is so low.

Anyone know that is GHS secondary section a band one school???

Well, some of the school you've list don't even finish all their interview yet, like: 聖心, 九龍塘, 宣道.

I was thinking about the same sort of question within these few months. Then I tell myself to stop thinking of something which has not happen yet.

Anyway, for me, the 1st choice of the above schools will be Good Hope. (cause DGS and Maryknoll are not on the list)

My girl now is accepted by Good Hope, and I'm not gonna bring her to the interview of 聖心 & 宣道, nor the 2nd interview of  九龍塘. I just don't wanna hold all the seats and make other parents worrying.
